Hi Faith. I think I know what's going on for both, but was wondering if you had a link that I could check out to verify.
- To get it to show all the content, you can go to Genesis > Theme Settings and change Content Archives to Display post content and all should show.
- The category blog "page" doesn't show the full archives like an actual category archive does. A "page" doesn't show the same as the standard category page. The post archive is where you'll see the post format icons.
If you can provide a URL, I can take a peek and confirm if this is what's going on.

weslindaMemberGood evening. Best place to start is with the Genesis eNews Extended plugin!
http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/genesis-enews-extended/
That plugin is the replacement to the built in eNews function and has the ability to hook into AWeber. There is a nice site with tutorials and everything as well.

weslindaMember1) On the header and the menu not showing, I'd have to have access to test and toy. Without hands on, it's tough for me to say what's happening.
2) On the header background image being responsive, I simply load a different image based on the resolution. Each of the resolutions in the CSS file get their own header image and it solves that issue.
3) I think any web site can be a challenge and some people overthink. Also, sometimes other plugins installed can be the root of some problems. In general though, it's pretty simple once you spend some time with it. Not sure if you've checked out studiopress.tv but it's a nice resource for getting started, as are the tips & resources & code snippets that StudioPress offers are quite handy for a lot of issues.
4) On SEO, and getting what you want. It's always a challenge getting to that end, especially if this isn't your thing. Genesis puts a lot of power in the users hands and I've found it to work amazingly well, but I have been using it for years.

weslindaMemberOne more note, not sure if you saw the getting started information when you purchased the theme, but there are details on how to setup the header menus and the widget areas in the getting started information for the theme.

You'll need to login to your studiopress account to access.

weslindaMemberTo clarify, dev.kliiq.com/studiopress/ is the homepage of that particular site.

weslindaMemberHi Charlie,
1) If you look at the homepage, http://dev.kliiq.com/studiopress/ you'll see the videos show, but if you are attempting to embed a number of videos, it's likely to take some time to load. Just the fun of YouTube embeds.
2) The tabs is created by adding a custom menu to header-right, they'll show right up. Secondary is not the location of that menu.
3) It does appear there is a conflict with the Yoast SEO plugin I'm not sure where that has progressed. As I don't use that plugin, I've not run into that issue. Otherwise it's worked like a charm on the installations I've used it on.
4) Content is certainly as important as visual.

weslindaMemberApologies on the slow reply, it's been one crazy week. So I setup the education theme in a clean environment and it appears to be loading the videos as you'd like them to be loaded.
http://dev.kliiq.com/studiopress/category/photography/
The link above is a "category" page that has a post, with video and a featured image, and I've also used the "more" divider to break up the content below so that it leads to a "read more" link.
You mention that you can't get the "video" to show in the post excerpt at the bottom of the posts page. The configuration that I'm showing above duplicates the page you're talking about exactly. And this is a fresh Genesis and Education theme setup. My only assumption is that something isn't right in your setup or a plugin is interfering with your goals.

weslindaMemberI guess I'd have to disagree with this action. I'm not sure why disabling a feature of Genesis would be the path to take simply because of a concern of what the client "might" do. I would want my clients to have the easiest solution to adding the header, and I think the Genesis way that's built into the theme is the best and easiest solution.
Loving the Genesis Life!
weslindaMemberYes, I know the page got specific. When i tested, I did not narrow it down, shows all posts.
Loving the Genesis Life!
weslindaMemberCurious. Never used that feature of Genesis before. You taught me something new and I've been using Genesis for quite some time. Doing some quick research I found this tutorial, http://my.studiopress.com/tutorials/category-blog-page/. Not sure if it would be a help or if you've already gone through that checklist.
In a quick test of the magazine theme on a site of mine, it worked perfectly. Love learning something new. Unfortunately, I'm not sure I can offer you much beyond that.

weslindaMemberTheCre8tiveDiva has setup a test site running BP and Genesis without Genesis Connect. Looks like it's working nicely.

weslindaMemberSo, I'm unsure of how the Genesis Media Project plugin works, so I can't comment on it's functionality. With the Education Theme, I like to use the Advanced Responsive Video Embedder plugin for embedding videos. It works quite nicely and is very responsive as well.
If you want the videos to show up on the archives page instead of the excerpt and featured image, simply go to Genesis > Theme Settings. Under the content archives section, you should be able to unclick "show featured image" and change "Display post excerpt" to "Display post content". This should show the video if you have it embedded in the post.
Of course, testing would be needed to confirm this would work, but it should, in theory.

weslindaMemberSo this isn't a design feedback, but a photography one. He needs a new headshot. That is a terribly unflattering photo of him on the homepage. Now, I say this coming from the perspective that I've never seen his face before, and to me, he looks like a bit of an alien.

weslindaMemberJust to confirm, you were able to find answers to your questions?
Loving the Genesis Life!
weslindaMemberCan you provide more detail? Are you looking for a list of blog posts to be there? A page generally won't show a list of "posts".
Loving the Genesis Life!
weslindaMemberWhy would you disable the custom header option? The desire to add an image to the header is the exact reason it's there. Easy to manage without needing to know CSS.
Loving the Genesis Life!
weslindaMemberDefinitely think this is a good idea.
Loving the Genesis Life!
weslindaMemberLooks like the theme uses a custom header. You can go to Appearance > Header and upload your image there. You can also turn off the text. There should be a guide on the image size that you can upload there.

weslindaMemberMike, I created a support ticket for the Advanced Responsive Video Embeds plugin, perhaps you could assist them in troubleshooting this as it's a premium plugin so the developers may not have access to it to test.

weslindaMemberGreat post. Ran into this issue on a client site, and after tons of searching I found that there is an amazing plugin out there for this as well. Had a situation where I needed a responsive video in a column inside the content area on a clients site. Dug for forever and this plugin worked wonderfully. And it works with a ton of the main video services. It's called Advanced Responsive Video Embedder. Really made this process so easy.
