Actually, you'll want to head to https://seothemes.net/documentation/studio-pro/ to see documentation for the theme. I just spent roughly an hour doing my best to guess setup and getting frustrated at the lack of proper documentation for a StudioPress theme.
Finally figured out that the link that is provided by StudioPress is incorrect, you have to go to the SEO Themes homepage to figure that out versus coming in via the link that is being provided currently.
Will submit a ticket to StudioPress to update appropriately.

weslindaMemberI would do two things initially. First, i'd try emptying the htaccess file and then resetting your links and attempting as instructed. Don't edit it directly your way.
Second, I'd connect with your host and see if you're getting any specific htaccess errors. This might be a host configuration issue if links aren't working properly on their site.
If those two things don't work, you might want to check to make sure there aren't any plugins messing with the URL structure.
If that doesn't work, it might be good to get someone access and let them look through the configuration for you.

weslindaMemberI understand, but every theme works a little differently. It would be great to have a link to the site you're working on or the theme you're using. Both would be best. It makes life a lot easier for someone trying to help you solve a problem you're having.

weslindaMemberDo you have a link to your site or a deeper explanation of what you're trying to do?

weslindaMemberApppresser allows you to do that. You can tailor WHAT content from your site is presented to the application users. You can show different designs, menus and truly customize the experience for the user. At least, that's what I've learned in my research on it.

weslindaMemberYou can either use device specific CSS, which can be a pain. The Mobble plugin can be nice to tune in things for devices (https://wordpress.org/plugins/mobble/). An easier and better long term solution would be something like AppPresser (https://apppresser.com/). That gives you the option to build true apps using WordPress as the engine. I think it would be a better long term solution.

weslindaMemberNever mind. I'm an idiot. This can be done right in the plugin. No need to add a function to do it in my functions file.
Perhaps it's time to stop working and take a holiday break. 🙂

weslindaMemberGo to bed! 🙂 I went back to check it as well. Keeping us in line eh Gary?

weslindaMemberGotcha. I believe that the widget title is what's being shared as what to leave blank, not the Settings > General site name option. If you move the h4 code that would be created with the widget title to the text area of the widget, and leave the widget title blank, it should work. Wouldn't affect the h1 on the site at all. At least, that's what I was talking about.
Loving the Genesis Life!
weslindaMemberCan you be more specific Gary? Where would the H1 be lost?
Loving the Genesis Life!
weslindaMemberI see one of two routes.
First is to simply put the HTML code that you want in the text widget instead of using a title. You can add the CSS styles to the lines that you want to display a certain way. Forego the HTML in the title completely. This is the least intrusive manner since you're okay doing HTML here.
Second is to follow the guides on this page. Looks like it should work, but I haven't directly tested it.

June 26, 2014 at 9:45 pm in reply to: Page with a featured image grid linking to gallery page? #111696weslindaMemberUnderstand. Both can work. Nextgen is one of the not so reliable gallery plugins. As a photographer, I need a gallery that works so I haven't used Nextgen in years.
I haven't dug into the tagging conversation you're presenting so I can't say how Envira would handle it. The built in gallery function that WordPress uses is okay, I like more control over my images so I choose to use a gallery plugin.
Take a peek at the Grid Loop plugin. If you have questions, the developer is normally pretty good with support. One of the better guys in the Genesis community.

June 25, 2014 at 4:23 pm in reply to: Page with a featured image grid linking to gallery page? #111560weslindaMemberI would absolutely think you could do this with a CPT or even a simple category. You would simply need to redo the category layout to highlight the featured image of each post. Then you would add a gallery to a post, select a featured image and publish. Pretty straight forward.
This plugin would be a good place to start: http://wordpress.org/plugins/genesis-grid-loop/
Alternatively, you might want to do this all using a gallery plugin. Here would be the steps I'd follow.
- Setup a gallery that will serve as the core gallery page. You will add images here that you can link to galleries as you add them.
- Add a new gallery for the event.
- Add event gallery to a post or page.
- Add image to core gallery, link to post or page of new gallery.
- Update core gallery.
This second option would give the client a little more control of order for their gallery links. But it might end up being a little work. If you're looking for a solid plugin, I've found the Envira Gallery to be a really nice gallery plugin that works well with Genesis.

weslindaMemberForgot about Genesis Layout Extras Plugin. Looks like that'll make life a little easier.

weslindaMemberSo in initial conversations, it appears that this is the way they did it. No real reason. Just the way the theme was designed. If you switch to not using a Header Image, then you get drastically more padding/margin built into the header right nav.
Header Image: https://www.dropbox.com/s/hjxwpnxts0m2i0g/padding-spacing-demo-vs-real.png
No Header Image: https://www.dropbox.com/s/f3rukcfglkaz9t9/No-Header-Image.png
In my opinion, if you centered the text to the text, then why wouldn't you center the text with the Header Image? The idea was something else in the designers mind. Doesn't make sense to me as one would think it would line up.

weslindaMemberDon't mind at all. I've seen this in other themes as well. It's just a bit frustrating that this hasn't been polished 100%.

weslindaMemberI have submitted a ticket to support. I asked the question here to see if others had seen the issue or if it was something off on my own configuration. Looks like at least 1 other person has seen this, so I'm curious to hear the response from StudioPress.
Loving the Genesis Life!
weslindaMemberThanks for the quick reply. My concern is that I'm following all of the theme's instructions. I'm following the logo size that it recommends to use. I didn't want to introduce my own CSS fix if this is a known issue.
By adding that, then I need to pay attention to that amount throughout the responsiveness of the theme.
I was more curious if this was standard results for the theme. If you look at my header side by side with the demo, you'll see the menu on the demo is actually lower than the menu on my site. Thus my question on if there was something missing in the configuration to explain why mine wasn't turning out the way the demo was.
I'm quite comfortable on the CSS to fix this, I'm more interested in knowing if this is a known issue and how the theme responds when a customer header image is used. If it is, then in my opinion this is something that should be fixed in the root theme. I should not have to insert CSS when I'm following theme instructions.

August 16, 2013 at 5:28 am in reply to: Seeking responsive photo gallery/portfolio plugin that takes over entire browser #56777weslindaMemberMike, absolutely. I have it implemented in my own site, very straight forward gallery. http://www.weslinda.com/headshot-portfolio/
We also did a custom configuration on a client site. All of the categories / pages on the left of images are MaxGalleria. We did change the presentation of the main image to a different configuration based on their desires, so it's not stock MaxGalleria. Hope that helps. :0)

weslindaMemberI'll take a peek at it. Always a little concerned as we're rolling this out as a client site, but I'll test it a bit. Thanks.
