So in pulling the CSS file, not all of the code after
/* Responsive Design
------------------------------------------------------------ */
is gone. Everything from
/* Responsive Design
------------------------------------------------------------ */
to the end of the file should be deleted.

weslindaMemberIt's very hard to diagnose an issue without being able to see the issue. Can you provide a link of the development site?
Loving the Genesis Life!
weslindaMemberyes, you can add a css style to the individual link in your menu if you're using wordpress custom menu's. then you can simply add a line to your css file to change the color to the one you want.
here is a nice little tutorial showing how to do it

weslindaMemberRod? Link? Theme? Many of the themes have a preset width for the title area if text is involved. Would need to see what's going on before I could comment further.

weslindaMemberYeah, posting code on here is a real bear. Sometimes you have to rewrite things to make sure they are clean.

March 31, 2013 at 7:13 pm in reply to: Insert an image or HTML code into the Serenity Subnav Bar instead of Menu Links #32374weslindaMemberGood evening, apologies on the slow reply. Crazy end of the week and weekend. By styling, I mean using CSS to make things look the way you'd like. As you're adding a new area, there won't be defined styles in the theme, so you'll have to setup what you want everything to look like.
So, Simple Sidebars simply gives you an easy way to create a new widget area. Once you've created that sidebar, then you can create a function that hooks that sidebar into the location you want.
Yes, you can use the after header hook, and I would recommend that, you're not going to be able to drop it directly into the subnav with ease, nor would I recommend it. Adding it to the after header hook will be cleaner and easier to manage long term. You would not need to turn off the menu.

weslindaMemberHey Gregg, definitely will work, just have to be careful on the amount of text that you put in those spaces.

March 29, 2013 at 9:05 am in reply to: New image sizes not showing up in Genesis Featured Widget #31927weslindaMemberYou're welcome. As for if it's a "bug", that's up to StudioPress and the Genesis folks to decide. But we've let them know and hopefully an update will come out if it's needed. Glad all is running well for you.

March 27, 2013 at 9:38 pm in reply to: Insert an image or HTML code into the Serenity Subnav Bar instead of Menu Links #31661weslindaMemberEasiest way to achieve this would be through the use of a hook. If you added preferred HTML to the genesis_after_header hook, that would allow you to drop that in, and away you go.
Hook Reference : http://my.studiopress.com/docs/hook-reference/
Intro to Hooks : http://my.studiopress.com/docs/hooks/To take it one step further, you could create a new widget area, and add it to the hook above. The easiest way I've found to create new sidebars/widget areas is to use the Genesis Simple Sidebars plugin.
http://www.studiopress.com/plugins/simple-sidebars
Once you've created your widget area, you can use the Genesis eNews extended plugin to connect to your email list.
http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/genesis-enews-extended/
Then all you would need is to style the plugin directly.

if ( ! is_admin() && file_exists( prose_get_custom_php_path() ) )
to
if ( file_exists( prose_get_custom_php_path() ) )
Should be line #75

March 26, 2013 at 11:48 am in reply to: Custom Sidebars for CPT Showing Primary Widgets as Well #31355weslindaMemberBill,
Thanks that did the trick. Interesting that it's pulling widgets from both the primary sidebar and the custom one i've defined. This is pretty interesting that it's doing this. I like the Simple Sidebars as it gives complete flexibility to the client, but little stuff like this makes it challenging to implement in a clean manner.
This gets me through the primary issue and puts a piece of knowledge out there that I wasn't aware of.
Flamenco, your original point was that it was killing my code, which it wasn't fully. It was pulling in the sidebar widgets I wanted, but was combining it with the default sidebar widgets. That's what was throwing me. If it wasn't working at all, that would have been different. However, it was GSS causing the hiccup. Kinda interesting to say the least. It's weird. Seems like a bug in GSS if it's calling both.
Does anyone know if there is an easy way to tell GSS to default to another sidebar for a custom post type? Maybe there is a hook / filter in GSS that would allow this? I can enable GSS for CPTs with ease, but the issue is the core archive page for these CPTs created by other plugins. There isn't an admin where I can add the sidebar selector to.
Anyone know if that's an option in GSS where I'm not turning it off? Rather I'm able to tell GSS what sidebar to use for a CPT in my functions file.

March 26, 2013 at 11:19 am in reply to: Custom Sidebars for CPT Showing Primary Widgets as Well #31344weslindaMemberDave, thanks for the reply, but it's taking the request to change the sidebar, it's just combining the custom one with the standard one. That's where the confusion lies. I am using Genesis Simple Sidebars, but this change is required to affect the sidebar on the archives of a CPT from a plugin.

weslindaMemberGlad to help and glad is working well. Only thing I would suggest is maybe looking at updating the link with an anchor that will take them to the main content on the homepage and not your greeting image. Might not be nice from a user experience.

March 26, 2013 at 10:43 am in reply to: Seeking responsive photo gallery/portfolio plugin that takes over entire browser #31339weslindaMemberMy favorite responsive gallery plugin is MaxGalleria. They offer a lightbox option when you click on an image which can fill the screen if you'd like. Lots of custom options available in there to get the look and such that you want.
Can you explain more about what you're seeking when you mention fill the screen? Is this for a review gallery or something like that?

weslindaMemberIt looks exactly the same on my Android phone and computers. May need to refresh the page or clear your cache and make sure the device is pulling up the latest version of the StyleSheet.

weslindaMemberThis is such a pain isn't it?
The CSS for the header image is actually inserted into the page by WordPress and not included in the CSS file. You can simply add a background alignment of center in your CSS and it should move the image where you want it. If it doesn't override the align left option, then you may need to add an !important; to the specific rule.

weslindaMemberSo it actually is working, just need to do some CSS styling to clear that box out. Once the CSS is updated, then you'll be right back to it. You'll want to clear the background of the box that it found and test to tune. In the CSS, you'll want to look for section 3C, and then any item that begins with .header-image is where you'll find the CSS covering that box. Looks like it starts on line 516 in the original css file.

weslindaMemberThanks for posting that, answer is in the code you posted. You've pulled the link out of the header with the code. That pulls out the title which when you add the logo, replaces the text with a link over the header image. Delete that line and all should work with a link over the logo.
remove_action( ‘genesis_site_title’, ‘genesis_seo_site_title’ );

weslindaMemberGlad all is working now!

weslindaMemberThe images have to be EXACTLY what you're setting the slider. Not really just "around". Otherwise the resizing of the images by WordPress won't be done smoothly. For example, the image on Axiety is actually 795 x 604. I created a second version of the image at the exact dimensions of the slider, works perfectly.
The sliders can be very finicky so you have to make sure you're being exact with your image sizes OR your being exact with aspect ratio. Best is to create the right image size out of the gate.
