Hi, it seems like there must be a simple solution but I can't find it anywhere. I've created 2 different categories (5 later). Then I created a Category Blog Page for each, then a custom main menu of the Category Blog Pages. Can you help me with the following?
1) The Category Blog page is only showing an excerpt of the post , but I want it to show the entire post including the link to the actual post.
2) The Category Blog page is not showing the post format icon for each post like it does on http://demo.studiopress.com/mindstream/) . The post format icon only shows up when you go to the actual post.
Hi Faith. I think I know what's going on for both, but was wondering if you had a link that I could check out to verify.
- To get it to show all the content, you can go to Genesis > Theme Settings and change Content Archives to Display post content and all should show.
- The category blog "page" doesn't show the full archives like an actual category archive does. A "page" doesn't show the same as the standard category page. The post archive is where you'll see the post format icons.
If you can provide a URL, I can take a peek and confirm if this is what's going on.

I did set the Theme Settings to display post content and that worked. Thanks! However, I want the Category Blog page to look like it does in the Mindstream demo - see http://demo.studiopress.com/mindstream/, where the post format icon is showing next to each post, and when you click on the icon, it takes you to the actual post. I set my Category Blog page up according to the tutorial http://my.studiopress.com/tutorials/category-blog-page/ and created two example posts in both categories. Did I miss something? Here is the key, actual blog pages won't show all of the category information like simply linking to the category will.
On your site you are using pages, instead of simply the category archives. Since you're using a page, with the blog template, it's not pulling everything. Compare these two pages on your site.

- Category: http://www.goldpagewarriors.com/category/take-off-the-mask/
As you can see, the Category shows the icon as desired. Can I ask why you're using the "page" instead of the "category"? Is it for URL friendliness or other?

weslinda, that did it! And it's working just like the demo now! It makes sense, but I was following the directions on how to create a "Category Blog Page" tutorial, which got me off track I guess.

You're welcome! Now, you'll want to delete those two pages, as they aren't needed. If you don't want "category" in the URL then you can use this plugin and it'll make the category URLs prettier.

By the way, how do I get the Title, Author, Date, and Tags to display, along with a Read More option, for each post on the main category blog page, like on http://blog.freepeople.com/inspiration/ ? Then when someone goes to the actual post page, the whole entire post displays.
