Have you requested your free website audit yet?March 31, 2018 at 6:42 am in reply to: Inherited site using Genesis Studio Press child theme #218492Victor FontModeratorThe site is using a customized version of the old XHTML Associate theme, which is still available in the download area. The giveaway is the child theme folder name. The developers that setup the site didn't change the folder name even though they changed the theme name.
You say you don't have the Genesis Framework, but you do. It's installed on that site. It's an older version. The current version is 2.6.1, but you have it nevertheless. What you don't have is access to Studio Press support. This is a community volunteer forum. Questions on this forum are answered by end users just like you. If you want official Studio Press support, you have to purchase a license for the framework.
The Genesis Framework is basically an abstraction layer for WordPress functions. If you understand how to use WordPress hooks (actions and filters), then you've got all the knowledge you need to dig into the framework. The rest is just basic PHP, HTML, and CSS. If you want to learn the framework in depth, I suggest you visit https://knowthecode.io. Tonya's Genesis course is a best in breed.
You may want to consider updating the site to a HTML5 theme. It will save you a lot of grief. Many of the Genesis functions are different for HTML and XHTML. As a volunteer, I don't generally answer questions anymore about XHTML themes. I don't have any installed in my development environment and it's too much work to research to find the answers. If you have a support license, Studio Press can answer your questions directly.

Have you requested your free website audit yet?Victor FontModeratorThe genesis() function is the main framework function that gets everything working. The error indicates that the Genesis Framework is not installed correctly. I would reinstall the framework if I were you.

Have you requested your free website audit yet?Victor FontModeratorThe Lexicon theme doesn't appear to be a Studio Press theme, at least it's not in the Studio Press theme archive. It's being sold by PremiumWP.com. There's no telling what changes the theme developer may have made to change the way it works with the Genesis Framework. A lot of third-party developers take liberty with the code. You best bet for getting a solid answer is to reach out to the theme developer directly if they're still in business. The theme developer details should be in the comment section of style.css.

If this is a Genesis site, then the framework is already installed. As for the theme, the name should be in style.css. When you post the link, we'll be able to tell you more about what you have.

Have you requested your free website audit yet?March 27, 2018 at 10:33 pm in reply to: Font Awesome Code Being Stripped from Widgets, Pages, and Posts? #218385Victor FontModeratorDon't use the visual editor. The visual editor in WordPress filters HTML and removes code that isn't standard. If you use the text (code) editor, you won't have that problem.

Have you requested your free website audit yet?Victor FontModeratorYou can change any Studio Press to a predominately black theme by changing the body background color in CSS. Take a look at the themes on this site and pick one that comes close to the design you want. Don't worry about colors, they're easy to change.

Have you requested your free website audit yet?March 27, 2018 at 6:49 am in reply to: How to set up selective header image in Atmosphere Pro #218354Victor FontModeratorYou have the logo in the header where it belongs for site-wide display, and you also have it in the front-page-1 widget area. You could always hide the header logo with display: none; in the appropriate CSS. Try adding the following to the bottom of style-front.css:
.home .header-image .title-area { display: none; }

Have you requested your free website audit yet?Victor FontModeratorYou are not using widget area 3 in the link you posted. In general, widget behavior is controlled by CSS class and possible jQuery. In Gallery Pro, the odd-numbered widget areas use different CSS classes than the even-numbered classes. The odd-numbered classes are designed for background images.
I haven't tested this, but you may be able to get the effect you want by changing widget area 3 to use the same classes as widget area 4.
To change the class for widget area 3, edit front-page.php and remove bg bg-scrim classes from widget area 3 on line 80.

Have you requested your free website audit yet?Victor FontModeratorYour theme, Eleven 40 Pro, does not have an author template. Neither does the Genesis Framework for that matter. You are using the default WordPress author page settings. If you want to change things, you'll need to understand how the WordPress author page works and create your own template. Details are here: https://codex.wordpress.org/Author_Templates

Have you requested your free website audit yet?March 23, 2018 at 10:29 am in reply to: Jump links not working properly on Monochrome pro theme #218284Victor FontModeratorSorry, I didn't read your post thoroughly. Here's a jQuery script that will fix the problem:
(function( $ ) { // Make sure JS is enabled. document.documentElement.className = 'js'; $(document).ready(function() { $( 'a[href*=#]:not([href=#])' ).click(function() { if (location.pathname.replace(/^\//, '') == this.pathname.replace(/^\//, '') && location.hostname == this.hostname) { var target = $(this.hash), admin_offset, header_height, offset; target = target.length ? target : $( '[name=' + this.hash.slice(1) + ']' ); admin_offset = $("body").hasClass("admin-bar") ? 32 : 0; header_height = ($('header.site-header').css("position") === "fixed") ? $('header.site-header').outerHeight() : 0; offset = header_height + admin_offset; if (target.length) { $( 'html,body' ).animate({ scrollTop: target.offset().top - offset }, 1000); return false; } } }); }); })( jQuery );
Create a .js file to hold this code and enqueue is in functions.php. It will calculate the offset of the sticky header and adjust the scroll accordingly.
