For some reason, my Font Awesome code is being stripped from widgets, pages, and posts in the Monochrome Pro theme. I managed to solve the widget problem by using a Custom HTML widget instead of Text widget, but there's no option like that for pages and posts.

Although the inserted Font Awesome code functions, it's now invisible, which is clearly a problem. Here's an example of the code I'm using: <span class="fas fa-paperclip fa-2x" style="color: #ff0000;"></span>

    Any help is much appreciated.

Don't use the visual editor. The visual editor in WordPress filters HTML and removes code that isn't standard. If you use the text (code) editor, you won't have that problem.

Thanks Victor. I think my problem was I was using the text editor, but for some reason, I switched to the visual editor and my code got stripped out.

Quite frankly, I didn't think it was a problem to switch between them. I knew that my code wouldn't likely be visible in the visual editor, but I didn't know it would get stripped out.

Is there any way to set WordPress or Genesis to only use the text editor?

Go to your User profile in the WordPress admin area on your site and check or uncheck the box to only use the text editor.

This is not Genesis specific and is a long term issue in WordPress.

I know this is old but it is still an issue. The better solution is to use the icon element.
