ParticipantThanks. I'll check those out.
UmpquaWeb
ParticipantI have a feeling I'm looking at a lot of customizations and I'll be seeking your tutorials.
UmpquaWeb
ParticipantOk, thanks.

ParticipantHow do I adjust the settings? And where do I go? If you mean to adjust the number of characters, that doesn't work. Like I said, adjusting by one character translates as 3-5 characters and cuts off part of the question "..."but really what does it all mean to you?"
UmpquaWeb
ParticipantOh, so you mean that will put the Read more below that text.
But will it still show the "It" of the next paragraph?UmpquaWeb
ParticipantI did that but have received neither a response, nor acknowledgment that my request had been received.
UmpquaWeb
ParticipantI found this post: https://studiopress.community/topic/infinity-pro-adjust-front-page-background-image-size/
It works!
UmpquaWeb
ParticipantIt doesn't work. Isn't there a way that I can just change the size? It asks for 1600x1000 but when I change the width of the image to 1600 wide, the height is 764. If I add it as that size, it stretches.
This is very frustrating. It was supposed to be a very simple site, but I can't seem to find a theme that will make it so. The themes seem to be getting more and more complex.
UmpquaWeb
ParticipantThis appears to be an issue with backstretch.js
The image width gets cut off on my laptop and only a small portion of the picture appears on my phone.
Can someone help me resolve this situation?

ParticipantI must not be making myself clear. I want to create a template using Genesis Framework and a child theme, then use that as a template for 2-3 sites. I understand that the themes come zipped, but you have to install the framework and the child theme separately. I was hoping there was a way to install the whole thing... framework, child theme and any adjustments I make... in one step.
UmpquaWeb
ParticipantAnd then do I pack it up somehow? Using BackupBuddy or something else?
UmpquaWeb
ParticipantFound another way to resolve the issue.

ParticipantFound another way to resolve the issue.

ParticipantSo the following code fills the header area, but it is not fully responsive.
.site-header .wrap {
background: url("https://elkhavenrv.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/sunset-header-1084.jpg") no-repeat scroll 0 0 transparent;
}
.site-header .widget-area {
height: 129px;
}UmpquaWeb
ParticipantMy concern was with the modifications I made with the old child theme, not the actual replacement of the theme. Sorry to not be more clear.
UmpquaWeb
ParticipantThanks
UmpquaWeb
ParticipantI found out that I had some code in the .site-inner that was the culprit, so it is resolved and I will close this thread.
UmpquaWeb
ParticipantPerhaps I wasn't clear in my explanation. The site looks fine to me on two monitors, my laptop and my phone. But someone has told me that when they pull the site up on their iPad and their laptop, 1/2 to 3/4 of the page title gets cut off. The only way I was able to duplicate it was to resize my browser window.
UmpquaWeb
ParticipantI resized the browser window because I was trying to duplicate what someone was telling me - that the titles were getting cut off on their laptop.
