A site I am working on uses the Metro Child Theme 1.0; since it was developed, Metro Pro has come out. What is the best way to move to the Pro theme?https://elkhavenrv.com/
Install it, Nothing will happen Because the child theme is already install
So proceed and follow the guildlines
My concern was with the modifications I made with the old child theme, not the actual replacement of the theme. Sorry to not be more clear.
The folder name from the old theme to new should be different. The new theme should install without overwriting the old.
You have to copy the old modifications over manually or you'll lose them.
It should be complete, you just have to install and follow the instructions. If it doesn't work, try removing the existing folder and replace it to the new one.

I hope you've made a backup first and download to your had drive. My process is to unzip the new folder on the desktop, then open up the files and perform a file comparison. See what new files may have been added to Pro. More than likely, you will need to update your stylesheet with any custom changes you made in the original theme. It's not as cut-and-dry as just removing one theme and adding another, especially if you've made considerable changes.
