I hard coded a background image into a site a few years ago and now I want to make it responsive. I want it to go the full width of screen, though that may not be the best idea for mobile. The code is:
background: url("https://www.elkhavenrv.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/sunset-header-1084.jpg") no-repeat scroll 0 0 transparent;
I also realize that the child theme is old. That might need to addressed separately, but thought I'd mention it in case that makes a difference.https://www.elkhavenrv.com
I am also having same problem.
Found another way to resolve the issue.
