Participantwizz6113, I'm having the same problem ...can I ask how you resolved this please? No answers on similar questions posted here on this forum and just wondering how to go about solving this problem
speedmouse
ParticipantI'm also having the same problem in Magazine Pro. No images showing in the library (just has an empty pale blue square) ...and same happening with the featured images.
Do Studio Press look at these forum questions or do we have to write them an email?
Obviously, I would like to solve this in the speediest way.
Many thanks for your time

ParticipantVictor, you are just the greatest! 🙂 ....I didn't realise that we could click on the css from the developers tool and see everything so not only have you solved the problem but you've given me a wonderful 'tip' for using it in the future. Thank you so much!

ParticipantHello Greg and many thanks for responding 🙂 I'm making the site on my computer as the client wanted her old site to stay showing until the new one is ready, so there is no url I can give you. I'll try and make my request clearer though:
That image I posted above was from the homepage of Magazine Pro, the demo here:
http://demo.studiopress.com/magazine/
...but in trying to make it clearer for you to understand, in fact it has also become clearer to me! So all I would love to know now is if there is a way to show PAGES in the same way as he has shown POSTS on the homepage, where there are 2 on each 'line' ...he has titled that section 'Travel (2)' in the demo above. Or do we just have to stick with the single page per line (he's labelled that 'Lifestyle (3)' in the demo above).
Many thanks for your help 🙂

ParticipantAh thank you, Emasai, for that small but very important tip! Much appreciated 🙂
I think I will use another child theme and just change some cssMay 9, 2014 at 10:13 am in reply to: Corporate & News (non-genesis) not registering changes made. Help appreciated! #104290speedmouse
ParticipantThank you so much for your help 🙂
You were right that the reasons are not the same for the 2 sites! The interior design site problem was due to parent and child categories, so that one's sorted.I've taken note of what you suggest, but really thinking that maybe the time has come to face the unface-able 😉 ...and redo the site using Genesis version.

ParticipantMany thanks for your response, essaysnark. These sites were made with the original themes before Genesis came into existence.
There no point giving the 2nd site as the change that is refusing to change on the published site, doesn't show - it's a category that was ticked and then unticked, but the post is still showing in that now unticked category.
The site I have given the link for (http://supervanmoves.co.uk ) has had the '01384 ....' number changed to an '0121 ....' number - in the editor for page-sidebar.php it has been changed, but the published site is till showing the old '01384 number.
I'd thought it must be a cache plugin but when I checked there is not one installed so it can't be that... how would I see if my host does?? (I use Hostgator)

ParticipantThat's brilliant, thank you very much! 🙂
December 14, 2013 at 3:17 pm in reply to: Executive Pro – unequal widths of home middle widgets #79112speedmouse
ParticipantI'm a little bit shame-faced to report back what the problem actually was - there wasn't enough text to fulfil the number of characters I'd set in the widgets. It was just 2 words short but those 2 words made all the difference.
I think working too many hours without a break stops one from being able to step back and let the solution wing it's way into the brain! Many thanks again, your feedback definitely helped me in assessing the problem.

ParticipantSridhar, thank you very much for doing that - and yes, it does look fine there ...with the Read More's being all on the same level.
After seeing your image, I checked also in firefox and IE and it does look fine in both of those, but not in chrome.
I'm wondering if it has something to do with the responsive slider (which I did a lot of messing around with tweaking it and altering the settings etc. - as in chrome the slider is quite big but in both ff and ie it is smaller but the backwards and forwards arrows to scroll are stuck out in the middle of nowhere! (about where the sides of the slider are in chrome)
It's nearly 4am here so will have a look at it tomorrow - but much obliged for your help 🙂

ParticipantAndrea, thank you so much, that was really helpful in more ways than one 🙂
I asked my eldest daughter to check the site on her mobile phone. She said that the call to action plugin box has crunched up unreadable text ...so, back to the drawing board!

ParticipantAndrea, many thanks! 🙂
After I'd written the post I worked for a bit longer. I was so tired by then that sort of just threw anything and everything at it, in auto-brain mode ...and somehow some of it worked. I don't think I will have done it the correct way though, just cobbled it together. I'm now going to use the TinyMCE php widget they have so maybe that will help if I start again.
I was doing all the css .... everything in the widget as I didn't want to alter anything else on the page ...in fact I did, by getting rid of the border on the red phone icon, it's gone and got rid of the borders on all the other images ...if there was one thing that you felt like helping with, it would be that ...how to make the css target JUST that one icon, leaving all the other images with their borders. I would be enormously grateful for that bit of info!
Many thanks for responding and sharing, it's much appreciated.
December 1, 2013 at 4:45 pm in reply to: How to stop favicon (and other files) being replaced when there's atheme update? #76499speedmouse
ParticipantMany thanks, Idavinder 🙂
I didn't realise that the child themes were never updated, but I suppose that was one of the advantages of creating genesis and child themes - which is great.speedmouse
ParticipantWell, what you say above could be a problem but on other sites for vaguely similar things there is a clear disclaimer that the site (SP in this instance) has no responsibility for any transaction between customers and designers and customers buy info from designers at their own discretion. I haven't worded it very well but you get my gist.
I've thought of pming a designer on occasions but always steered clear because I feel they will wop me with an unreasonable price that I wouldn't be willing or able to pay. A bit of a no-sense attitude I could do with changing now I come to think of it.

ParticipantYour mini rant was fine ...hope mine was too 😉
You're right about googling and it's something I often forget to do, not for coding but all sorts of other things too, then my daughter suggests it and ...of course!I googled just now, out of interest, to see what it would bring up about the slider border problem I had but nothing was relevant there - though I had to laugh as the first serp return was from someone getting irate at a fellow who he said 'was answering without answering' which is just what I was complaining of.
Instead of wasting my time and theirs, much better to just say something like "Yes, I can give you this info and it will cost x$. Here's the link to pay, once you've paid send me a private message and I'll give you the info".
Anyway, thanks for helping to talk this through. I know the system is not too bad but like most things it could be improved on so both the asker and the designer get their needs met in a way that leaves both of them happy and satisfied
Best wishes!

ParticipantYes, I've seen those and they are brilliant. Unless I'm imagining it there seem to be more there than when I last looked several months ago 🙂
Maybe there could be a nav link on this site called Start Here, or Quickstart which would be a page that has every link both inhouse and out that will give people every bit of help that's available.
There's one other thing I want to say and I hope whoever reads this will realise that it's not a gripe but an observation on what I perceive (which could of course be mistaken). I get the impression that answers given are often not as helpful as they could be. I see that the majority of people giving answers are site designers, developers, etc who would understandably prefer to be paid for their knowledge and time. Understandable as it is, it sets up frustration and a - maybe illogical! - resentment on the part of the person trying to learn the info. Many people are not in the position to pay substantial amounts to get the help they need, and very often they just need an exact snippet and knowing where to put it. I'm wondering if some sort of system could be set up where a payment of 10$, $15, or $20, etc... could be easily paid in return for the said snippet and info.
I would have willingly paid 10$ for the info you helped me with yesterday, and which I'd wasted many hours trying to find - and my money situation is drastic at this minute (not for much longer though, fingers crossed! 🙂 All of us have paypal accounts now and it only takes 2 minutes to send money to an email address.

ParticipantAh, many thanks Susan 🙂
(do you by any chance know how to make the border stick to the size of the genesis responsive slider as in the link above? I've made the border now but can't get it to be the same size as the slider. I'm getting a bit desperate about this as have to finish the site this weekend! This is the site:

ParticipantThat article is great but they don't say which file we should add the code to, ha! 🙁 ... could you say where it goes please? - I'd like it to show either above or below the header. Many thanks again 🙂
