How can we stop our favicons being overwritten each time we do a theme (or Genesis, can't remember which it was) update?

Also, any other files we have edited?
Event Espresso for instance (event management plugin) have a folder in uploads where we put the files we have edited and these are not overwritten when there's an update. Does Studio Press have any similar way?

    Many thanks for your time!

Ideally you should place favicon file (icon) in images folder of your child theme (not genesis framework theme). This does not get overwritten during update.

    Many thanks, Idavinder 🙂
I didn't realise that the child themes were never updated, but I suppose that was one of the advantages of creating genesis and child themes - which is great.
