This topic has appeared before but no resolution was posted up.

I have migrated my blog content to a new dev site; first using the WP dashboard export (which didn't take the images bar around 15); and then by using ftp to wing across my content/uploads folder to the new dev site. This means I can now see my images correctly in my posts.

    However....

I can't see any (bar those very few 15) images in the Media Library, which means I am unable to get a homepage with blog post excerpts showing a thumbnail or other size image.

Does anyone know how to resolve this issues of the 'missing' images!!!

    Thanks.

A small update: I notice that the only images showing in my media library are 'unattached'.

My current site is running an earlier WordPress version: 3.9.3 (the child theme anyway); and my new dev site is on the latest WP: 4.0.1

Not sure if either of those pieces of info make a difference.

wizz6113, I'm having the same problem ...can I ask how you resolved this please? No answers on similar questions posted here on this forum and just wondering how to go about solving this problem

Genesis is ultimately a WordPress solution. Read the https://codex.wordpress.org/Moving_WordPress and specifically pay attention to serialized data (covered there). The missing images is not a problem, it's normal because these were stored as meta data for that post. I use the Better Search and Replace plugin, works fast.

To be honest , I can't remember how I solved it but I think I ended up doing them manually all over again! Must check out Carsasmo's solution if it happens again!
