nutsandbolts, thank you so much, article looks brilliant and going to have a go now!
Your are great at answering problems here on this forum and I'm wondering if you by any chance know the answer to this post here, about the genesis responsive slider??Anyway, even if you don't your link on this thread is much appreciated! 🙂
November 29, 2013 at 11:23 am in reply to: How do I make my logo not blurry on mobile device? #76173speedmouseParticipantHello, I've just asked my daughter to bring it up on her phone and it looks beautiful. Not blurry or anthing ...have you fixed it since you posted?
November 29, 2013 at 6:57 am in reply to: How can I change the header widget size in Metro Pro? #76139speedmouseParticipantI've done this exactly in Exec Pro childtheme but it isn't changing! What else needs to be done for that child theme please??
Many thanks for your time 🙂
November 28, 2013 at 10:53 am in reply to: How can I make a border with 8px padding for Genesis Slider? #76050speedmouseParticipantMany thanks Cwalsh. I'm getting there, do have a border now but needs one last tweak if you are able to help it would be wonderful... I've made the size of the slider to 80% but I can't find the way to make the border follow - any tip as to what I'm looking for to tell it to also become 80% so it fits the size of the slider?!

Many thanks in advance for your help
November 24, 2013 at 7:21 am in reply to: How to make header section have red background in Executive Pro? #75349speedmouseParticipantOops, sorry ...just realised that I've posted to the other question I asked 🙁 ...and I can't edit it any longer. Sorry about that
So anyway, that is the site I'm working on: http://themarketingmother.com/demo1/
...and yes thank you, I do use firebug and google developer tools, but as in my other thread, this has stumped me so far.
Many thanks for your help:)
November 24, 2013 at 6:54 am in reply to: How to make header section have red background in Executive Pro? #75346speedmouseParticipantNutsandbolts, many thanks for responding! 🙂 This is the site here: http://themarketingmother.com/demo1/
I do use both Firebug and Google Developers tools and usually manage with a bit of trial and error to find the solution but this time I'm finding it impossible to recognise what and where I need to put border and padding info.
I've managed to centre the slider but even that is completely lopsided, (as are the 3 widgets below it, they are all on the left-hand side for some reason??)
Many thanks for your help 🙂
November 23, 2013 at 9:28 am in reply to: How can I make a border with 8px padding for Genesis Slider? #75195speedmouseParticipantMany thanks Cwalsh but if you can comment on the following it would be very helpful...
In the stylesheet of the G. Responsive Slider it has this right at the top:
#genesis-responsive-slider { background-color: #fff; border: 10px solid #eee; margin: 0 auto; padding: 10px; position: relative; }
...but when I look at the demo site for Executive Pro there is no border at all!:

Many thanks for your help 🙂
November 21, 2013 at 8:21 pm in reply to: Help needed please, for Genesis Responsive Slider setup #74847speedmouseParticipantSorry about that but it was a case of Sod's Law in reverse ...as soon as I'd finished posting this question, common sense dawned on me and I realised what I was doing wrong. I can't see how to delete this thread so have just changed it to Resolved.
speedmouseParticipantThanks for the ideas. It's a big jump from what the Balance theme has to what I need to do as I'm not very code-literate but it's a good start-off point 🙂
speedmouseParticipantBrad, I will happily look at the css file but what am I looking for and what would I put there? The images above are just mockups on a word document. I have no starting place in the css (....help!! 😉
speedmouseParticipantThank you Brad! I'm using Executive.
August 8, 2013 at 5:28 am in reply to: How to make a page that has 2, different-width columns? #54848speedmouseParticipantOk, all sorted now and understood! 🙂
August 8, 2013 at 2:08 am in reply to: How to make a page that has 2, different-width columns? #54834speedmouseParticipantMany thanks, I will download it and see if it does the trick!
UPDATE: Sorry, back again 🙂 ...This is an example it gives in the README text:
[one_third_first]CONTENT[/one_third_first][one_third]CONTENT[/one_third]
I take it the 'CONTENT' is where we should put the content of a column but there are only 2 'CONTENT' and yet this is for thirds. I'm probably being thick here, but have played around putting the third bit of text in various position in that code but can't get 3 nice clean columns 🙁
August 7, 2013 at 5:55 pm in reply to: How to make a page that has 2, different-width columns? #54759speedmouseParticipantUPDATE:
I've put the code below here on this page (after watching the videos again): http://www.technohubitgroup.com/grigoriou/test__miranda/
<div class="one-third" first>This is an example of a WordPress post, you could edit this to put information about yourself or your site so readers know where you are coming from. You can create as many posts as you like in order to share with your readers what is on your mind.</div> <div class="two-thirds">This is an example of a WordPress post, you could edit this to put information about yourself or your site so readers know where you are coming from. You can create as many posts as you like in order to share with your readers what is on your mind.</div>
but as can be seen it doesn't show correctly
Btw, we're using Executive
speedmouseParticipantI've been away from Studio Press for about 2 years and am totally out of the loop. If a theme is going to be rewritten for genesis 2, when it happens does it mean that our site will visually fall to bits??
Many thanks for enlightenment in advance 🙂
August 6, 2013 at 7:02 am in reply to: Adding a separator on the top of widget area on the home page top widget #54352speedmouseParticipantI forgot to say, i have used studiopress executive theme.
speedmouseParticipantTonje, re: curation, if you want to send a message here: http://themarketingmother.com/contact
then I can explain to you better. If you have skype we could talk using that.
speedmouseParticipantIf it was me I would add another couple of good content paragraphs under you large coloured click buttons on the home page. I wouldn't bring blog posts in there, but as other recommendation to you, have in the sidebar 'Recent Posts'.
On top of that I would do 'Curation' for most blog posts you make, as google loves that. Make sure you do it as they like though, putting all curated bits in a block quote and giving the link to the original article.
HTH
speedmouseParticipant105 words is certainly little, especially for your home page. Could you not, lower down the page have other text, leaving your 'clear and concise' bit at the top so visitors aren't overwhelmed?
Good luck 🙂
April 28, 2013 at 6:00 pm in reply to: Can I make this site with Studio Press? (Having a nightmare here!) #38317speedmouseParticipantMany thanks Susan! - one more question please ...can I also make the theme 'Agent Press' have the sort of small square box style for the category blogposts 3-snippets that this site has on it's home page?:
http://grigoriou.co.uk/sustainability-interiors/
Is it true to say that I could customise your themes to do really whatever I want with them?
Many thanks! 🙂
