So which plugin do Studio Press forum member prefer? I'd like to go with something that has a good reputation and is fairly well supported.
RavenManiacParticipantThanks!
RavenManiacParticipantPlugins that prohibit further website exploration without first filling in a form?
RavenManiacParticipantLooks good, but it's bad form to open up each page in a separate window. That should be your viewer's decision, not yours. 🙂

RavenManiacParticipantThanks for your reply. Yes, unfortunately, I'm still screwing around with a filterable portfolio. I was testing Go Portfolio (http://codecanyon.net/item/go-responsive-portfolio-for-wp/5741904), and it seemed to be working well, but then a WP update broke it and I can't figure out what's wrong.
Now, I'm thinking about using Sridhar Katakam's tutorial instead, in hopes that it'll be less prone to breakage with future WP updates. Can you post a link to your portfolio page so I can see what it looks like?
Also, if anyone else has any advice on this subject I'd really love to hear it as I seem to be spinning my wheels with this particular problem.
RavenManiacParticipantYep, it's been resolved. Thanks for checking.
RavenManiacParticipantIs this true?
I thought WooCommerce was compatible with Genesis. This would be truly disappointing if it wasn't.
RavenManiacParticipantDavid, this is good information. So what would the code look like if you just wanted to remove the tagline from the home page?
RavenManiacParticipantAwesome! What cache plugin do you recommend?
RavenManiacParticipantOkay, I just tried this out and it works friggin great! Lots of control and very easy to implement. The only issue I'm having is a little confusion between the Go Portfolio CPT and Minimum Pro's CPT.
Do you think it's better to disable the Minimum Pro CPT and if so, how would I go about doing that? What about Minimum Pro's categories and tags?
RavenManiacParticipantAlthough I really hate voiceless videos, this seem to show how it works.
It's a shame I can't use the CPT in the Minimum Pro theme, but I guess the good news is I can apply Go Portfolio to any StudioPress template. Do plugins like this significantly affect the website's load time? Is there a limit to the number of plugins I should use per website?
RavenManiacParticipantDoes that mean that Go Portfolio needs to be physically placed into a specific page? Can you create a post type within Go Portfolio or do you need a separate plugin like Type?
I tried using Sridhar Katakana's Filterable Portfolio with Minimum Pro, but I failed miserably and I'm not sure why. I did everything in the tutorial, but I couldn't get my posts to display.
RavenManiacParticipantThanks Dylan. I ended up going your route and purchased Go Portfolio. The only problem is I don't know how to hook it into the Minimum Pro theme. Can you give me a little guidance? Thanks.
RavenManiacParticipantHi Dylan, I'm having the same darn issues with Sridhar's filterable portfolio tutorial and the Minimum Pro theme. I followed his instructions to the letter several times but I still could't get it to work. It's extremely frustrating when so many people were able to make it work, but I couldn't.
Did you ever make any headway with his approach?
RavenManiacParticipantUser error. Worked fine the second time I tried.
RavenManiacParticipantAwesome! Thanks!
Are ALL Studio Press template portfolios implemented in this manner as a custom post versus an actual page?
RavenManiacParticipantKellylise, thanks for your response. I checked and that code is not in the child theme's CSS. I'll try adding the code to the Extender Custom > CSS, but it makes me nervous not knowing where that code is originating from.
RavenManiacParticipantOkay, I've had several people inform me that the problem is with the 100px margin. Specifically this code:
.site-tagline {
background-color: #99CC33;
margin: 100px 0px 0px 0px;
}Apparently that CSS styling exists in a style sheet named genesis-extender-minified.css, which is created by Genesis Extender. The only problem is I don't know where GE is getting it from since I didn't write it. I contacted Cobalt to see if they can help and will post their findings once I hear back. Thanks again for your help.
RavenManiacParticipantThanks everyone. I get what you're saying. The Portfolio page is not actually a traditional page, but instead more of a post type–which now makes sense to me. But here's my problem. In the demo, under the Templates menu, there's a menu link to the Portfolio. http://my.studiopress.com/themes/minimum/#demo-full
How do I add Portfolio to the navigation menu if it doesn't exist as a page under WP's Edit Menus section?
