ParticipantI can't believe how many plugins there are. Thanks!
Performance wise, It it better to program the functionality I need or use a plugin?

ParticipantCarrie, to follow up with this thread, how would one modify the built-in Minimum Pro portfolio to make it filterable?
RavenManiac
ParticipantThanks for the info, but this didn't really help me. I know how to download and install plugins. This is clearly some kind of a configuration issue.
RavenManiac
ParticipantThat is a nice resource. Thank you.
RavenManiac
ParticipantExcellent suggestions. Thank you.
I think the reason I decided to go with a modifier app is because I'm still learning CSS and HTML and I thought Genesis Extender would help me with that. But I think my biggest problem is jumping in.
I've researched the hell out of WordPress, Genesis, and everything else, but I'm hesitant to test my skills in the WP waters for fear that I'll do something wrong and have to start all over if I don't fully understand what I'm doing. This probably sounds pretty silly.

ParticipantThat's a really nice portfolio. I'd be interested in this as well.

ParticipantTo followup my previous question:
In other words, for shared hosting on a GoDaddy server, all client files go into a client specific folder within the public_html folder, something like this:
public_html > client_a.com
public_html > client_b.com
public_html > client_c.com
public_html > client_d.comBut where do the WordPress files go and are some of them duplicated in each client folder?

ParticipantThanks guys. I've never heard of Beaver Builder. I'll check it out.
I was planning on purchasing Genesis Extender to help with template customization and then move to Dynamik once I get a little more proficient with WP.
I do have one question though. I'm familiar with the files Freeway Pro generates, but I don't know much about WordPress file structure. Do you know of any good articles that explain WP file structure?

ParticipantWhat happens if you simply don't include an address?
RavenManiac
ParticipantSo, if my agent or their broker is an MLS subscriber do I need a separate IDX provider that I can plug into or does the MLS provide that? In other words, how do I connect these templates to the MLS?
RavenManiac
ParticipantThat worked perfectly. Thanks!
RavenManiac
ParticipantYes, I believe so. I see where you're going with this. I just need to import the XML file again, but choose to replace the content , correct?

ParticipantHey Rob,
Thanks for your response.
I may be miscommunicating what I want to do. Basically, I've been playing around with WordPress and a few different themes and now that I have a pretty good feel for how it works I basically want to reset everything to the default settings, which means getting rid of all of my sample data and settings and reseting the theme to its original state. How would one do that?
RavenManiac
ParticipantAnita, thank you very much for your prompt response and insight.
No need to download the free demo. I'd rather spend that time learning Genesis and WordPress. The reason I asked the question is I often assume that my competitors are smarter than I am, which, in this case, they clearly are not. I should spend more time focusing on my business and less time worrying about what the other guys are doing. Thanks for setting me straight. 🙂
RavenManiac
ParticipantWell, perhaps rip-off is the wrong terminology.
I'll rephrase my question. Is this a parent-child theme system similar to Genesis? What are the benefits of choosing Genesis over ThemeFuse?
After a LOT of research, I decided to go with Genesis for my own company. I'm just making sure I didn't miss anything.
RavenManiac
ParticipantThanks guys.
Brad, I literally have nothing up yet, so I can't post a link—yet. 🙂 But I will.
I'm still going through some lynda.com WP training, but I think I'm starting to understand the basics. Quite frankly, I don't know why I didn't do this sooner. I'm amazed how far WP has come. All of my website development buddies have trashed WP for years because of it's lack of flexibility, but based on what I've seen, the advantages far, far outweigh the disadvantages. I'll keep you posted with my progress. I'm sure I'll be needing lots of help.
RavenManiac
ParticipantI just added a lot of content and changed a lot of settings when I was playing around with WP. Now, I just want to get everything reset to the default settings so I can start working fresh with Genesis. 🙂

ParticipantI apologize for jumping on your thread, but something that has always annoyed me about the Agency Pro theme is the color flash when you change pages. How would one turn off that effect?
RavenManiac
ParticipantThanks Kellylise. I just purchased a copy.
RavenManiac
ParticipantSusan, this is really good work. You should be very proud of what you've been able to accomplish.
