ParticipantUnfortunately, I can't get it to work. I commented out the code you indicated, cleared my WordPress and browser caches, and even tried Incognito, and nothing worked.
Maybe I'm describing it wrong. On the Monochrome Pro homepage, I want to eliminate how the copy scrolls up from the bottom when you first load the page. I actually like the effect. But sometimes, when you first load the page, it's completely blank (except for the header) until you interact with the page. Then, the copy will scroll up and appear. While it's a cool effect, it may create some user confusion.
Thanks for your help, Anita.

ParticipantOk, sounds good. Thanks for your help.

ParticipantNo, I want the latest Monochrome Pro version that's still widgetized. So that would be v1.51, correct?

ParticipantHi Anita, Thanks for your reply. I'm currently running PHP 7.4. Unfortunately, I can't upgrade to the latest because I host many older websites that don't support the newest version of PHP. It sounds like I may be able to upgrade to anything below v1.6, correct?
RavenManiac
ParticipantThat worked perfectly. Thanks, Anita. ๐

ParticipantThanks, Victor.
Apparently, the Monochrome Pro v1.5 theme has a separate Footer that uses Genesis and WordPress shortcodes. I've managed to edit some of the existing Genesis shortcodes, but I need one that will allow me to enter text and a linked URL. I tried deleting the Footer shortcodes and adding code to the Footer Scripts section, but it left a large white gap at the bottom of the website.
Where can I get a list of WordPress built-in shortcodes?
Here are the shortcodes I'm currently using, which won't allow me to add customer text and URLS:
[footer_copyright after=" Copyright Darrell Kellum, Inc. "] ยท [footer_childtheme_link before="" after=" On"] [footer_genesis_link url="http://www.studiopress.com/" before=""] ยท [footer_wordpress_link] ยท [footer_loginout]

ParticipantThat's the problem. I didn't use a plugin. Instead, I simply selected [Settings] > [Site Language] and changed it there.
There must be some foreign languages lurking around, but I can't find them. I checked the wp-content>languages folder in the website directory, but it's empty.

ParticipantHi Anita, sorry for the delay in responding.
No, I'm not using a translation plugin, but my recollection was something weird happened to the website a while ago that forced me to switch to another English language (UK or Australian) and then switch back, but I don't recall the specific reason that was done.

ParticipantThanks for your response, David. Just so you'll know, I don't recall receiving a $90 coupon, but I may have missed it—especially if it was sent by a company other than Studio Press. As for splitting out Genesis Blocks Pro (not sure what Custom Blocks Pro is), I'm encouraged that you and your team are giving that some thought.
I know you're taking a lot of heat on this and I'm really sorry about that. The important thing to remember is that you have a tremendous amount of loyalty here, which is why everyone is voicing their concerns. To me, it's clear that my fellow Genesis Pro Plus owners do value their relationship with Studio Press. If they didn't, they would just tell you to take a hike and move on. But, as you can see, that's not happening.
On a personal note, I want you to know that I do appreciate your efforts on our behalf. I think everyone here wants to move forward with Studio Press and WPE. We just need to feel like you appreciate us as much as we value you, and the best way to demonstrate that is with some kind of mutually-beneficial upgrade path. ๐

ParticipantHi David,
When you have a moment, can you please remind everyone what the grandfathered discount is for StudioPress Pro Plus customers that upgrade to Genesis Pro?
Also, has WPE decided not to offer the Genesis Pro plugin as a standalone product, which would seem to solve many of the issues voiced in this thread?
Thanks!

ParticipantRegrettably, I feel exactly the same. And, I really wish this wasn't the case because I do like Genesis.
May I ask what other alternatives you're using? I've had several well-known WordPress developers recommend Oxygen to me.
RavenManiac
ParticipantOops! Silly me. I just remembered that I'm not using Genesis. I'm using a framework called Equity, which is specific to the real estate industry. I was told years ago that it's based on Genesis, and maybe even developed by Studio Press, but I don't remember the details.
I just reached out to IDX Broker (i.e. Agent Evolution) to see if they can help.

ParticipantAwesome! Thanks, Anita. ๐

ParticipantHi David. So if I understand what you're saying, Atomic Blocks will become Genesis Blocks. A Genesis Pro subscription will add additional "subscription only" features to Genesis Blocks and will require a subscription key.
Is that correct?
If so, will Studio Press ProPlus members also have access to these "subscription only" features or will they have to upgrade to a Genesis Pro subscription?
And finally, in Carrie Dil's Genesis Pro video she demonstrates something called "Genesis Page Builder."
I'm assuming this is a separate page building plugin that works with Genesis blocks and Guttenberg. How would a ProPlus member get a copy of this tool? Thanks!
RavenManiac
ParticipantHi David, I appreciate your thorough response. For years, I've been using the Genesis framework because I, like others, bought into the idea that it provided a stable foundation for developing WordPress websites, which, in my opinion, it has.
Moving forward with FSE, do you feel that frameworks will become a thing of the past? If so, what will insulate WordPress websites from bad code, plugins, or even themes like Genesis has done in the past?
As you know, there are a lot of page builders out there that have gained popularity because of their ease of use, such as Beaver Builder, Divi, and Elementor. And now, Kadence has arrived on the scene. Is Genesis Blocks the answer to these new development tools? If so, and assuming your team can build in the same level of performance, stability, and reliability as the Genesis Framework, I'm in! ๐
RavenManiac
ParticipantSounds good. Thanks, Anita. ๐
RavenManiac
ParticipantI would hope that StudioPress monitors this forum. Plus, I'm sure this is something that all ProPlus customers would like to know. ๐
