Without compatibility between Genesis and Woocommerce, Genesis is not the best platform anymore. It's not even useful, really.

Woocommerce has come a long way since Genesis started and it's really the only recommended ecommerce plugin now. Without compatibility many sites get to a point where they can't go on and will have to completely change themes, something that can be very disappointing if a lot of time has been put in. Otherwise work-arounds have to be used which are then a pain when upgrading.

Genesis Connect for Woocommerce is not particularly helpful. I've found it doesn't work out of the box for my theme, Magazine Pro. Further, being a third-party plugin there is no support, so it's Caveat Emptor.

I don't know if I'm hoping for too much, but I think Genesis can't ignore its incompatibility with Woocommerce.

    Is this true?

I thought WooCommerce was compatible with Genesis. This would be truly disappointing if it wasn't.

I also thought WooComm was compatible with SP child themes. What are our options for reliable eComm plugins/solutions if using SP?

I just got a site running very well with Genesis and WooCommerce. I used Genesis Connect and Genesis product archive Customiser to get it set up. This free tutorial was very helpful. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zUyGznSmm2U

I set up a lot of sites using WooCommerce and Genesis Connect for WooCommerce.
