RavenManiacParticipant
Thanks Dylan. I ended up going your route and purchased Go Portfolio. The only problem is I don't know how to hook it into the Minimum Pro theme. Can you give me a little guidance? Thanks.
RavenManiacParticipantHi Dylan, I'm having the same darn issues with Sridhar's filterable portfolio tutorial and the Minimum Pro theme. I followed his instructions to the letter several times but I still could't get it to work. It's extremely frustrating when so many people were able to make it work, but I couldn't.
Did you ever make any headway with his approach?
RavenManiacParticipantUser error. Worked fine the second time I tried.
RavenManiacParticipantAwesome! Thanks!
Are ALL Studio Press template portfolios implemented in this manner as a custom post versus an actual page?
RavenManiacParticipantKellylise, thanks for your response. I checked and that code is not in the child theme's CSS. I'll try adding the code to the Extender Custom > CSS, but it makes me nervous not knowing where that code is originating from.
RavenManiacParticipantOkay, I've had several people inform me that the problem is with the 100px margin. Specifically this code:
.site-tagline {
background-color: #99CC33;
margin: 100px 0px 0px 0px;
}Apparently that CSS styling exists in a style sheet named genesis-extender-minified.css, which is created by Genesis Extender. The only problem is I don't know where GE is getting it from since I didn't write it. I contacted Cobalt to see if they can help and will post their findings once I hear back. Thanks again for your help.
RavenManiacParticipantThanks everyone. I get what you're saying. The Portfolio page is not actually a traditional page, but instead more of a post type–which now makes sense to me. But here's my problem. In the demo, under the Templates menu, there's a menu link to the Portfolio. http://my.studiopress.com/themes/minimum/#demo-full
How do I add Portfolio to the navigation menu if it doesn't exist as a page under WP's Edit Menus section?
Also, are ALL Studio Press template portfolios implemented in this manner as a custom post versus an actual page?
RavenManiacParticipantThis is going to sound really bad, but I have no idea how to change the width of my header widget. 🙂
RavenManiacParticipantYep, I see the page in the folder, but shouldn't it be under pages in the WP Dashboard?
RavenManiacParticipantYes, I did that. I found the Columns page and the portfolio page is working fine. But I don't actually see a portfolio page in the Pages section of the WP Dashboard. Could it be that the Portfolio is nothing more than modified blog postings?
RavenManiacParticipantBTW, I found this reference online which offers a few fixes for WordPress issues:
http://arkhamarchivist.com/the-two-most-common-fixes-for-wordpress-problems/RavenManiacParticipantThanks Brad. That worked perfectly.
However, I'm not sure of what I just did. Why was reserving the Permalinks necessary?
RavenManiacParticipantI'm having a similar problem. For no apparent reason my Portfolio page just disappeared. The page still physically exists in the appropriate folder, but now when I click on the Portfolio button all I get is the following error message:
------------------------
Not found, error 404The page you are looking for no longer exists. Perhaps you can return back to the site's homepage and see if you can find what you are looking for. Or, you can try finding it by using the search form below.
------------------------Does anyone know how to fix this?
RavenManiacParticipantAwesome. Thanks.
RavenManiacParticipantI finally figured this out.
I decided to use Ninja Forms instead of Contact Form 7, but I suspect the solution will be the same.
In order to get Ninja Forms to work on a Synology DiskStation it's imperative that the From email address in Ninja Forms Notifications is EXACTLY the same email address as you've entered in the Notification Control Panel of the Synology DSM.
I hope this helps other DiskStation owners.
RavenManiacParticipantDavid, I just found this tutorial: http://www.studiopress.community/topic/using-jquery-isotope/#post-142522
Is this the approach you would recommend?
RavenManiacParticipantWill this work with the Minimum Pro theme and its built-in Portfolio?
RavenManiacParticipantI'm pretty good at coding. I think I can handle it if given some direction. Can you post a link to the process that you feel is accurate?
RavenManiacParticipantDavid, how can I adjust the height of the band in question? I tried to modify the height of the .site-tagline class but that didn't work.
Also, how do I move the logo in the header a little to the left so it aligns with "A Responsive HTML5 Theme". I tried using -40 pixels of left margin to .header-image .site-title, which looks fine on the desktop version, but renders the logo off center when view on a mobile iOS device.
Thanks.
RavenManiacParticipantThanks David. That worked perfectly.
