aaah thanks Victor - now I know what that are called 🙂
CheshireMemberHi
I am getting quite desperate to have this fixed.
I am willing to pay (via Paypal) for someone to tweak the CSS as I just can't get the magic code in there.
Ben - I tried to contact you first but the link in your signature says your website is currently offline.
Thanks Jayne
CheshireMemberThank you Ben so much for your reply
I had initially change the default 320px to the 1140px.....
If I change it to max-width as you suggest, the header image disappears - ???? do you know why ??
CheshireMemberHi - as an update
I've found and tried the sticky menu option: http://my.studiopress.com/tutorials/sticky-menu/ but it doesn't do drop downs, so abandoming that idea.
Have been playing with coding, but still can't get the header and Nav Bar to reduce for the ipad - am using WPTouch as well - but that isn't doing it either.
Does anyone have any ideas?
CheshireMemberThank you very much - apologies I didn't reply earlier I forgot to tick the box for email notifications.
That has worked really well for the Vimeo, but not the other page:
http://infinitywealth.net.au/how-we-can-help-you/
do you know how i can get this one to "shrink" - you mentioned a plugin - yes, groan at using a plugin......
CheshireMemberHello
http://hiddenvalleyeco.com.au/
I am still persevering with trying to get this theme do what I want/expect. There are snowball effects which I am not expecting.
When I delete the tagline from General Settings I am left with a large white space.
If I try to alter the padding and margins for .site-tagline and .site-inner it affects the formatting of the text for the headers in the content pages.
I don't seem to be able to comment out the function in function.php as it moves the background image to below the footer.
I would really appreciate any suggestions.
CheshireMemberHi emasai
Thats very weird - I have copied the iframe code for this post from the text view in WordPress
http://infinitywealth.net.au/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/Screenshot-2015-04-01-06.29.47.png
Where, how and why is it being altered?
March 31, 2015 at 8:54 am in reply to: Adding 4th column to home-bottom widget area in Enterprise Pro child theme #146252CheshireMemberThank you! Was just searching for this solution and this was perfect!
CheshireMemberThanks Christoph - I htink Im just going to have to remove the tagline, thus metadata from General Settings.
That was one of the first things I tried, but it moves the background image to being under my footer.
I really appreciate the help from you both! Thanks so much!
CheshireMemberHello Christoph
Thank you so much for your reply
1) That is just changing the colour of the grey to white - I actually want to remove the whole tagline function from the homepage
2) Yes, the image was being pixelated so I loaded the original which is a massive picture....Ive resized it to being 320px high - but it is distorting/stretching the image - the height is not becoming smaller - currently the image is 2000x320.
Interestingly when I apply Firebug tools the image suddenly swaps to not being pixelated and stretched - thats weird!
3) Thank you worked perfectly!
CheshireMemberThank you very much - yes there are lots of tutorials out there, its just a matter sometimes of finding the cleaner coding for Genesis.
Appreciate your link 🙂
CheshireMemberThank you Pixel
Removing that CSS code didnt do anything....
I've tried deleting a few of the .site-tagline lines as well, but it affects the background image
Would it be something in the functions.php file?
I'm hesitant to remove the tagline from General Settings..........
CheshireMemberThank you very much!
CheshireMemberThanks Cre8tiveDiva 🙂
Off to research and play 🙂
CheshireMemberthanks Susan 🙂
CheshireMemberCongratulations on having such a successful website! 🙂
CheshireMemberHi Cre8tiveDiva
Yep - it was the obvious! A plugin. Genesis Simple Edits.
Thanks for letting me know too about WP-Cycle.
RIP Wp-Cycle! 🙁
xxxxxx
CheshireMemberSorry, I just realised I had posted this in the wrong category
I ended up just deleting and reinstalling the theme as I havent done too much customization yet
That white gap you were talking about has gone - even though there is a grey padded area now, which i suspect is because of the dimensions I set in WP-Cycle - I will attend to that shortly.....
But the post information is still not displaying correctly 🙁
Thank you
CheshireMemberHi, thanks for your reply
I don't think so - I've only been playing with the style.css.
I'll do a copy and paste through FTP to replace the php files and see if that fixes it.
Ill let you know what happens
August 7, 2014 at 12:35 pm in reply to: Creating Widget Area For Themes With No Home Page Widgets? #117609CheshireMemberHi Chris
I suppose I'd like to know for all of the non-widgetized home themes - or do they all just follow the same rules from that how-to?
Just finding a lot of them unusable atm for static web design because of focus on the posts for blogs so would like to stop winging and just design............shall just try if it is that easy 🙂
