There's generally no reason to ever update a child theme since all core functionality derives from the Genesis Framework.
The theme does not store content. All website content is stored in WordPress tables.
If you have custom code (CSS, PHP, jQuery), it has to be transferred manually to a new theme before updating otherwise your customizations will be lost.

Have you requested your free website audit yet?Victor FontModeratorThis is not an official Studio Press support site, and you are asking a lot of questions that are not related to the Genesis Framework or any Studio Press theme. We're just community volunteers, end users just like you.
There is a Facebook group dedicated to Genesis and WooCommerce. I suggest you ask your questions there: https://www.facebook.com/groups/495893430615281/
Also, there isn't anything you can imagine doing on a site that you can't accomplish with the Genesis Framework and a Studio Press child theme.

Have you requested your free website audit yet?Victor FontModeratorThe Social Warfare dev is incorrect. The Genesis Framework absolutely does use the_content hook. It's how content is displayed on pages.
In fact, other than CSS enhancements for WooCommerce, neither the Genesis Framework nor the News Pro theme do anything to change WooCommerce output.
If you are using the Genesis-Connect plugin for WooCommerce, which you should be using, it provides templates that allow Genesis to work with WooCommerce.
The plugin templates call WooCommerce functions to display single product and catalog pages. This is exactly the way the default WooCommerce templates work as well. If the disconnect is anywhere with the Social Warfare plugin, it appears to be with WooCommerce, not Genesis or News Pro.
I suggest either of the following. Use a different plugin that works with WooCommerce, or create your own custom WooCommerce templates that work around the built in WooCommerce functions.

Have you requested your free website audit yet?Victor FontModeratorThe error is in your code. The error message says "Product properties should not be accessed directly."
Since we can't see your code, all I can do is guess that you are accessing a product property incorrectly. Instead of calling the result of a method, you are trying to pull a variable directly, which isn't allowed.
It also appears that you are using the wrong function in your code:
PHP Notice: woocommerce_get_template is deprecated since version 3.0! Use wc_get_template instead. in /home/botron/public_html/wp-includes/functions.php on line 3853

Have you requested your free website audit yet?April 2, 2019 at 9:51 am in reply to: Force Genesis Layout Settings strange but welcome behavior #490432Victor FontModeratorI'm sorry Cemal, but I don't access the admin area of any site to troubleshoot issues without a paid engagement. Everyone answering questions on this site is a community volunteer without any affiliation with Studio Press. We do this because we like helping people.
I don't mind answering questions as a volunteer and I answer a lot of them, but when it comes to troubleshooting someone's site, it directly impacts my billable hours. Someone here may volunteer to help you for free, but I can't do that.

Have you requested your free website audit yet?Victor FontModeratorI would reinstall the plugin. It looks like a faulty install. The icons are not being found. It could also be a permissions issue or the server may not allow svg images. In which case, these would be server issues and you'd have to contact your host.

Have you requested your free website audit yet?Victor FontModeratorThe folder name from the old theme to new should be different. The new theme should install without overwriting the old.
You have to copy the old modifications over manually or you'll lose them.

Have you requested your free website audit yet?March 31, 2019 at 3:03 pm in reply to: Force Genesis Layout Settings strange but welcome behavior #490396Victor FontModeratorThe Genesis Framework provides 6 layout options. Studio Pro removes 3 of them:
genesis_unregister_layout( 'content-sidebar-sidebar' ); genesis_unregister_layout( 'sidebar-content-sidebar' ); genesis_unregister_layout( 'sidebar-sidebar-content' );
The layout meta box should be available to you because the options are not removed. You have a plugin conflict or something else going on that's preventing the layouts from showing. This isn't anything I can help you with from the front end.

Have you requested your free website audit yet?Victor FontModeratorThis site is for questions related to the Genesis Framework and Studio Press themes. Your site in not using either. It's a foreign theme. You'll have to ask your theme's developer.
I'll be closing this thread since it's not a Genesis theme.

Have you requested your free website audit yet?Victor FontModeratorIt's doable. It requires custom code. And a menu of that type can grow to be incredibly unwieldy as you add posts.
I don't have an example to show you. You can search for a plugin, or examples from someone that already has done this. It's not related to the Genesis Framework or your child theme.

Have you requested your free website audit yet?Victor FontModeratorThe example added the text right to the entry meta. If you use the Genesis Simple Edits plugin, you can do the same.
Or, you can use this snippet after you've modified it: https://my.studiopress.com/documentation/snippets/entry-header-html5/customize-the-entry-header/

Have you requested your free website audit yet?Victor FontModeratorThat second page is a function of your mailing list manager. It has nothing to do with Genesis or eNews extended. You probably have double-opt-in selected or something else. Some mailing list managers don't allow that second form to be disabled.
Using eNews extended, there is no way to redirect to a thank you page.
For sign-ups on my website, I use Formidable Forms, then I add new users to my lists through Zapier. It's much cleaner.

Have you requested your free website audit yet?March 31, 2019 at 4:24 am in reply to: Force Genesis Layout Settings strange but welcome behavior #490375Victor FontModeratorYou don't have to use code to change the layout setting for specific posts or pages. There is a setting to change layouts in the editing page for every post/page.
If you are using the classic editor, click the screen options button on the upper right of the screen and make sure "Layout Settings" is checked. Then, scroll down until you see the Layout Settings meta box and click the setting you want for that post or page.
If you are using Gutenberg, click the 3-vertical-dot icon on the upper right, then select options, and make sure the "Layout Settings" checkbox is checked. Then, same as previous instruction.
