    Hi all,

I want to create a menu based on a category. The subitems (dropdown) of that menu should be all the posts within that specific category.
This can be done in wordpress backend but creating a menu that way is not what I want, it always involves manual intervention to get this correct.
I want the menu to be automatically populated when new posts within that category are published. I have three or four categories that are the main menu items like 'Kids', 'Beauty', 'Interior' and 'Exterior'. These four are the names of the categories. For every menu item I want a dropdown (or something similar) with the post of that category.
Is this doable? And if so, how?
Can someone point me in the right direction?

    Thanks in advance.

It's doable. It requires custom code. And a menu of that type can grow to be incredibly unwieldy as you add posts.

I don't have an example to show you. You can search for a plugin, or examples from someone that already has done this. It's not related to the Genesis Framework or your child theme.

    Hi Victor,

Thanks for your reply (as always).

I already told/warned my client that such a menu can go crazy!
But she really wants it this way.
Maybe, I'll have to rethink this whole menu-thingy to offer her a more convenient menu.
The fact that it is not directly Genesis related is true, but this community is one of the very few wordpress/genesis related ones out there where you actually get a response.

This plugin will do that , it's not been updated recently but it still works just fine (read reviews). I've used this on a couple sites and it's working very well.

    Hi Andy,

I was just about to respond to my own post about this plugin I found yesterday. But you where faster 😉
And as you already stated, it just works very well although the plugin hasn't been updated for a long time.
Sometimes plugins are just so well written and clean, they just keep working.

But thanks anyway for taking the time to reply!
    Really appreciate that.
