Hi bslugnut,
View the front page of your website while logged in and click the "Customize" button in the black admin bar up top. Next, go through the options in the panel that appears. After inspecting your code, I think you will find any easy way to change it there.

Somewhere within the mobile responsive brackets of "@only screen and (max-width: 768px)", paste the following code and clear your cache. Let me know if this helps!
.entry, .site-inner { background-color: #fff; border: none; box-shadow: none; }
ErikaParticipantYou can plug it into your style.css file.
ErikaParticipantWelcome 🙂
ErikaParticipantLarry,
I just visited your site and I saw it too. I'm not sure when it will pop up again. That's controlled by your popup settings in MailChimp. Glad you figured out the footer newsletter too! You're welcome.
ErikaParticipantHi Fabrixx,
Try the code below and let me know how it works:
pre { display: block; padding: 1rem; margin: 0 0 1rem; word-break: break-all; word-wrap: break-word; white-space: pre; white-space: pre-wrap; }
ErikaParticipantHi Paul,
Add this line of code to your style.css and let me know how it works:
.has-fixed-header .site-header .wp-custom-logo .title-area { max-width: 150px !important; }
ErikaParticipantHonestly though, the coding for the menu is pretty hefty and at the bottom of the guide Sridhar says it is primarily for the Genesis sample theme (in case you aren't using it). If you get yourself in a pinch, you can email me at [email protected] for a modest quote and I can fix it.
ErikaParticipantHi Eric,
First, in your style.css file, go to line 1534 and remove ".site-header .widget-area" from this line of code:
.genesis-nav-menu, .site-description, .site-header .title-area, .site-header .widget-area, .site-title { text-align: center; }
Next, to get your menu out of mobile mode, find "@only screen and (max-width: 1340px)" in your style.css (of which there are a few) and delete all lines of code relating to the menu. I looked at the guide Support referred you to and that's what is messing up your menu.
ErikaParticipantHi Defree,
In your Style-front.css, find line 174 and change the padding to what's shown below:
.front-page-1 { padding: 8% 0 15% 0; background-position: 50% 0; background-size: cover; text-shadow: 0 1px 2px rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.5); }
The image does shift a little bit, but it's not too bad. Let me know if this works.
March 15, 2018 at 12:33 pm in reply to: Image isn't displaying in HTML Widget on right sidebar #217947ErikaParticipantThe correct link code is:
<a href="YOUR-LINK-HERE.COM">LINK TEXT</a>

March 15, 2018 at 11:19 am in reply to: Image isn't displaying in HTML Widget on right sidebar #217941ErikaParticipantAll you need to do is input the following into a custom HTML widget or another HTML area:
<img src="YOUR-IMAGE-LINK-HERE" alt="DESCRIPTION-OF-IMAGE"><br>YOUR TEXT HERE
If you want to insert a link, use this code:
<a href="YOUR-LINK-HERE.COM>LINK TEXT</a>
Hope this helps!
ErikaParticipantHi Larry,
Take the code MailChimp gives you and paste it into a custom HTML widget through your WordPress customizer. You can place the widget anywhere on the homepage and the code should not appear. Depending on the timer settings of your popup, it should pop up once that amount of time has elapsed.
You can follow the same process for any other MailChimp HTML code. I hope this helps.
March 15, 2018 at 10:26 am in reply to: Difference between .genesis-nav-menu and .nav-primary #217938ErikaParticipantHi Heather O,
Unless I'm mistaken, the difference between .genesis-nav-menu and .nav-primary (or .nav-secondary) is that the first is for universal changes to all menus, whereas the other two simply target specific menus.
However, it looks like you have some jQuery that's preventing any changes to be made to the submenu hover color through CSS. I recommend finding out what that is and disabling it if possible. Viewing the site as an outsider, it's hard to recommend an another route.
ErikaParticipantYou're welcome 🙂
ErikaParticipantYou're welcome 🙂 You may also want to download the Regenerate Thumbnails plugin. It'll help your images adjust to the new sizes in case they don't initially.
ErikaParticipantGo into the edit screen of the top post and click the Screen Options tab at the top. Check the Excerpt box (if it's not already) and put the text in there you would like to show. That may fix it.
I checked the Balance theme's setup instructions and there is hardly anything there. I'm guessing you already did that!
ErikaParticipantHi Chris,
The first thing you can do is register new sizes for the featured images. In the functions.php file of your theme, there will be a block of code similar to this:
//* Add new image sizes add_image_size( 'home-middle', 360, 200, true ); add_image_size( 'home-top', 750, 420, true ); add_image_size( 'sidebar-thumbnail', 100, 100, true );
Just add a new line beneath the image sizes already there, and create a new name with new dimensions, like so:
add_image_size( 'homepage-featured', 150, 400, true );
You can do this as many times as needed for different areas of the blog. You may have to play around with the dimensions a bit until you find what you like.
ErikaParticipantHi Eric,
You should be able to insert a Genesis - Featured Posts widget into that space and display only one post and control how it appears. Have you tried this? I see you are using a static front page so it should be possible.
