    Hi Rob. That’s a lot of help you’re asking for, for free! I’ll help you out with one issue if you let me know which one is the most urgent. Anything beyond that will cost you, as my time is valuable.

    Hi outlawgt. I'm not sure what you want to know. 'How do I integrate BuddyPress with Genesis?' is a very fuzzy question. You said you installed the Genesis Connect plugin, then what? What do you need that you don't have?

    Hi jiihoohoo. Genesis Responsive Slider is good for carousels. Genesis Simple Share and Simple Social Icons are good for social media links.

    Hi Frankie. You can do this by going into your Genesis Theme Settings and in the Content Archives section, select to show excerpts.

    Hi there. Firstly, I think you should change the file name front-page-original.php back to front-page.php – you don't need to be messing with template files.

    Secondly, wherever you have is_home(), change it to is_front_page().

    Thirdly, you can set to display full width content on the page editing screen.

    Let me know if that works.

    Hi Teresa. I still can't see any unparsed shortcode. There's an error about 'Hybrid Connect', but that's an issue with the plugin. The shortcode is successfully being parsed by WordPress and it has nothing to do with your theme.

    OK. Instead of your image, add the following content in the Text mode of your WordPress editor:

    <div class="jh-image-background">

    PUT YOUR TEXT HERE

    </div>

    Then, in your theme stylesheet, add this code:

    .jh-image-background {
    background-image: url(http://www.tmijaakkoherttua.fi/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/DSC01333mv.jpg);
    background-size: contain;
    background-repeat: no-repeat;
    color: #fff;
    width: 1000px;
    height: 750px;
    }

    Sorry Ian. I missed closing a string.

    remove_action( 'genesis_before_loop', 'genesis_do_taxonomy_title_description', 15 );
    add_action( 'genesis_before_loop', function() {
    	ob_start();
    	genesis_do_taxonomy_title_description();
    	$output = ob_get_clean();

    	echo str_replace( 'class="archive-title"', 'class="myclass"', $output );
    }, 15 );

    Also make sure that you're viewing a category or tag template, and that you have set a headline for that category or tag.

    I see what you mean now! The page you're looking for is http://www.rogerswriting.com/?post_type=listing.

    I also would like to suggest that you turn on 'pretty permalinks'. Once you do that, the page will be locatable at http://www.rogerswriting.com/listing/.

    @carlo…. I actually have this code added to my functions.php in child theme and its giving me the results I was looking for. What do you mean it would bring your site down?

    I guarantee you don't. Try copying and pasting what you posted and see what happens...

    Firstly, those items in your array should be formatted as strings. Secondly, when posting code on the forum, you need to put it inside a code block (use the code button in the editor) or the string marks are auto converted into quotation marks.

    Hi Howard. The theme looks great, but I don't think it's worth any money because it's not very different from the Sample theme.

    Thanks for the code.

    I am fairly certain that is for html5 code and not for XHTML sites.

    It is indeed, but that's the least of the problems with it. Using that code would have brought down your site!

    Thas, you should have tested it before posting it. Also, saying hello and introducing the code in your own words instead of just posting the code alone wouldn't hurt.

    I decided to take the easy way out and used the genesis simple hooks plugin and just clicked the:

    Unhook genesis_do_header() function from this hook?

    Button.

    Good idea.

    Hi Treagans. Yes that's possible. The easiest way would be to use the plugin Genesis Simple Sidebars.

    Hi there. There are redirect loops on your site and missing images. It's not very user friendly at all.

    Have you been trying to set up the website yourself? If so, is there any reason why you chose not to work with a designer?

    February 1, 2015 at 7:05 am in reply to: Google Maps as Widget Background #139250

    Hi Josephine. You could grab an iframe from Google Maps, give it a width of 9999 or something that's guaranteed to be larger than any screen size, and drop it into one of your text widgets on your Parallax Pro site.

    Then, in your theme stylesheet, you could restyle that text widget to remove all the margin and padding and make it full width. The iframe, despite it coded to be 9999 pixels wide, should resize itself to the width of the window.

    The above is exactly what I just tried out in my browser inspector and it seems to work well. The only thing is you won't get the parallax effect, because that comes from the CSS background image and an iframe is not an image.

    One more thing I'd like to add. I actually don't think full width google maps are a good idea, because if you're scrolling down the page with your scroll wheel or trackpad, when you hit the map, it will take over the scrolling, and you'll find yourself zooming out the map instead of scrolling down the page. But it's up to you.

    Hi Amy. I don't understand. Isn't http://www.rogerswriting.com/?listing what you want? That's the post type archive. Whenever you add a new post of post type 'listing', it will be listed on that page.

    Hi Ian. Try adding this code to your theme functions and let me know if it works:

    remove_action( 'genesis_before_loop', 'genesis_do_taxonomy_title_description', 15 );
    add_action( 'genesis_before_loop, function() {
    	ob_start();
    	genesis_do_taxonomy_title_description();
    	$output = ob_get_clean();

    	echo str_replace( 'class="archive-title"', 'class="myclass"', $output );
    }, 15 );

    Adam knows how to fix them but he wants to make me figure it out by myself.

    That's strange... So he knows how to make a website and you don't and he's paying you to make his website?

    Hi Carlo,
    It would be nice if you can help me with number 3.
    Thanks.

    OK. Am I correct that in your theme functions, you have a function called before_loop_widget? Modify it like so:

    function before_loop_widget() {
    	if ( is_singular( 'page' ) )
    		return;

    	// AND THE PRE-EXISTING CONTENT OF YOUR FUNCTION GOES HERE
    }
