Hey guys, I just purchased Genesis and the Eleven40 Pro theme. I like Genesis a lot so far, and I am pretty good with WordPress, which also helps. But I am stumped on how/when images are used on posts. Let me explain.

My Front Page is set to display my latest posts. The format is one big post at the top (single column), with the remaining posts below being 2 column. I have 3 posts created. Each includes a Featured Image in the post.

The problems I see are as follows:

    1. The top post does not show the image on the home page. When I click the post I do see the image.

    2. The bottom posts (in 2 column format) show the image, but the images are cutoff.

    3. On one post, when I remove the Featured Image I still see an image on the post. It's like it has memorized that image, and nothing I can do will remove it, unless I use a different Featured Image. So no featured image = an image.

If I click on the archives (Month/Year) the images show up fine, as expected. But Archives do not have the 2 column format. All posts are in 1 column format.

Actually, I would prefer that my home page shows a few of my recent posts, in 1 column format. But I need the images to show too, not just text for the top post.

Can anyone point a greenhorn in the right direction? Thank you!

Hi Rob. That’s a lot of help you’re asking for, for free! I’ll help you out with one issue if you let me know which one is the most urgent. Anything beyond that will cost you, as my time is valuable.

Sorry for the big request, Carlo. I actually thought this would be pretty simple since the demo content shows this exact functionality. If you look at the home page of

    http://my.studiopress.com/themes/eleven40/#demo-full

That's all I need. Picture on top. No photos for the posts below. Click the post and get the image on top as well.

That would be the big one. Thanks again for the help!

Okay, here's an update. I changed my front page to show a page that uses the Blog template. That fixed the image issues, but caused another problem.

Down at the bottom of the page there are navigation buttons (1, 2, 3, Next) which do nothing but load the same page 1 over and over.

And keep in mind, I did this because making the Settings | Reading Front page display = Your latest posts did not show the images correctly.

    Getting closer!

The picture on the demo site is actually embedded in the content of the post, rather than being a featured image.

Have you looked at the setup instructions for the eleven40 theme, to get your site to resemble the demo?
