Topic: My Magazine Pro theme does not feature mobile hamburger menu
Hello all,
I'm teaching myself Genesis, responsive design, etc. while I build some websites. I have one that uses the Executive Pro theme. The issue is that my desired site title is too long and so wraps. I thought I could fix this with a bit of additional CSS, like this:
/* Enlarge Title area */
.title-area {
font-weight: 700;
float: left;
width: 420px; /* from 320px */
}
.site-header .widget-area {
float: right;
width: 720px; /* from 820px */
}This almost works. Without this code, the site title centers as the screen size is reduced. With the code, the site title remains left justified, which does not look right.
Can someone point me to a good tutorial on adding custom CSS to child themes so that I can solve this issue? Or if you know the answer that's even better!
Thanks,
Allan
I would like to use a 1692x291 header image. I see that the theme only allows for 540x160.
What is the proper way to do this and make it responsive? How would these files be edited:
functions:
// Add support for custom header.
add_theme_support( 'custom-header', array(
'flex-height' => true,
'width' => 540,
'height' => 160,
'header-selector' => '.site-title a',
'header-text' => false
) );And this section of the style.css file:
.header-image .site-title,
.header-image .title-area {
min-height: 100px;
padding: 0;
}.header-image .site-title a {
background-color: transparent;
background-size: contain !important;
max-width: 270px;
min-height: 80px;
padding: 0;
}Thanks!
[Resolved]Topic: Metro Pro Header Image
I want to add a header image that is responsive.
https://elkhavenrv.com/ shows what I was attempting to do. It is an old theme, and now I'm playing with a newer theme. You can see it at http://wpcuisine.com/elkhaven/
1. Is it possible to add a header image in version 2.2.2? Will it be responsive? I found a video that shows how to do this, but they show to go to 'Customize' and add it in the Header Background. However the newest version doesn't have that option.
2. Are full width header images a thing of the past?[Resolved]Topic: Background image not responsive
I hard coded a background image into a site a few years ago and now I want to make it responsive. I want it to go the full width of screen, though that may not be the best idea for mobile. The code is:
#header {
min-height: 139px;
overflow: hidden;
}#header {
background: url("https://www.elkhavenrv.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/sunset-header-1084.jpg") no-repeat scroll 0 0 transparent;
}I also realize that the child theme is old. That might need to addressed separately, but thought I'd mention it in case that makes a difference.
Hi,
I would like to have my menu above the header and use the header right widget to show text about business hours, credit cards, etc. I can see a little of the menu in the upper right corner, but not enough to read. Right now the menu scrolls behind the header which is pretty annoying. Ideally I would like the header to not be fixed, but I'm not sure if that will affect responsiveness.
I'm using a child theme of genesis 2.8-dev. The site is tonibarskile.com/test1.
Thanks for any help in advance
Using the new Revolution Pro theme, which is great.
It features a "Left Menu," then "Right Menu," with the header in the middle.
When it goes responsive, and the hamburger menu replaces the navigation bar, the Right Menu is at the top of the list, and the Left Menu is at at the bottom.
Example would be: desktop = A B C (header) D E F
But mobile becomes...
D
E
F
A
B
CIt even does it in the demo you guys have on your site, so I know it's not just me.
Please advise.
Thanks,
Chris
[Resolved]Topic: Header Image not responsive
I wanted the header image to be larger than the 300px that is set in the theme, so I changed it to 500px. This works fine on a large screen, but it is not responsive. How can I fix this?
[Resolved]Topic: Full Width Site-Header & Nav-Menu
I need the site-header & nav-menu to be full of the site-container (1280) and they need to be responsive.
Content area to remain as is.
Suggestions?
Topic: Header Magazine Pro
Hi, in the meantime I thank you for your cooperation, and now I get to the point: I have a site with magazine pro, but I would like to tighten the greatness of the header, but when I try the responsive aspect damn, then I ask you how can you move the line indicated by the arrow up or down, without affecting the responsive layout?
I have a site I'm building for a client, and have put the menu in the header widget for Enterprise Pro theme, but on the phone it is not displaying the entire menu (Home, etc on the left are off the screen).
Help!
PS. I also notice that the home bottom areas are not stacking in mobile responsiveness, but that is less important.
Topic: Mobile Responsive Images
As I keep saying, I love the responsive aspect StudioPress themes.
Well, imagine my shock when Google sends an alert to say one of our StudioPress websites was not mobile friendly.
The error was: Content wider than screen
An image placed in the content area was regarded as not mobile friendly and too wide for smart devices.
I assumed (made an ass of you and me) that the theme delivered images based on the device, but no. StudioPress themes are responsive moving the header, footer and sidebar content but not the content inside the content window.
We researched the topic of resizing images and found lots of workarounds.
We ended up trying this: Adaptive Images for WordPress
I'd be interested in hearing what other work-rounds people are using?
I would like the header Financial News Corp to be bigger. It is set to 760 x 180. How do I create a full-width responsive header in the magazine pro theme or how do I create a full-size header logo in desktop view?
Also, when I upload the logo image in media view, I am not seeing the size options in WordPress...the options at the bottom to make it small, medium, large, or size as. It looks as if the header is set to medium.
Thank you.
Welcome!
