November 4, 2014 at 10:59 pm in reply to: Why does my textwidget have non-zero height but demo theme does not? #130534WisdmLabsMemberHi,
Your current html structure is
<div class="cta-left"></div> <br> <div class="cta-right"></div>
Remove the <br> tag and the alignment will be fixed.
WisdmLabsMemberHi,
You can change it using css in your child theme child.css.home-section-3{ padding:66px 0 66px; }
WisdmLabsMemberHi debra,
There is an option in Genesis settings to include the feature image.
Go to Genesis -> Theme Settings
Select 'Include the Featured Image?'
WisdmLabsMemberHi Matt,
The background color is not working because of the background image added in your theme's style.css
The tagline is not visible because it is set to display:none in style.css
November 3, 2014 at 12:03 am in reply to: Putting Image icon in Secondary Navigation Menu(Top) in Metro Pro theme #130246WisdmLabsMemberHi,
In that case you could try this technique.
In your dashboard, go to Appearance->Menus
Select your menu.
On the left side select links.
In the 'Link text' field add this<img id="imagerss" src="http://www.chaldean-catholic.org/wp-content/uploads/2014/10/rss2.png">
You can drag this link before About Us
Save the menu.
WisdmLabsMemberHi,
You could use the div structure so that it remains responsive. Genesis provides column classes, you could use the same.
Refer this link http://my.studiopress.com/tutorials/content-column-classes/
October 31, 2014 at 7:31 am in reply to: Putting Image icon in Secondary Navigation Menu(Top) in Metro Pro theme #130003WisdmLabsMemberHi,
If you need to align it with other menu items, ie to look like its a part of the nav menu you won't need to add css explicitly.
The .menu-item class will handle it.
In case you wish to add more css for the image you may assign a id to it.
WisdmLabsMemberHi Julie,
You can change the first letter using a little css
for eg if i want to change the first letter for all h1 headings with a class entry-title,
my css would be as follows:h1.entry-title::first-letter { color: red; }
October 31, 2014 at 6:48 am in reply to: Add widget to div within page content on Genesis landing page template #129995WisdmLabsMemberHi Richard,
You would not need the code
function add_LandingPageWidget() { LandingPageWidget( 'pagewidget', array( 'before' => '<div id="pagewidget">', 'after' => '</div>', ) ); }
The code snippet in functions.php should be
genesis_register_sidebar( array( 'id' => 'pagewidget', 'name' => __( 'LandingPageWidget', 'themename' ), 'description' => __( 'This is a widget area ', 'themename' ), ) );
Suppose i wish to display the content of this widget area in my front-page.php template inside a particular div,
my code would be<div class="myDiv"> <?php genesis_widget_area( pagewidget', array( 'before' => '<div class="pagewidget widget-area">', 'after' => '</div>')); ?> </div>

I Assume you want the li to align with the other menu items. If so, simply remove the class 'right' and add the class 'menu-item' to the li
<li class="date menu-item">. date_i18n( get_option( 'date_format' ) ) . </li>
October 31, 2014 at 5:40 am in reply to: Add widget to div within page content on Genesis landing page template #129983WisdmLabsMemberHi Richard,
The code needs to be in the template.
In case you are inserting this code in between html tags, only then you need to add the opening and closing php tags ie <?php and ?>
else if the code is within a php block, simply copy
genesis_widget_area( 'pagewidget', array( 'before' => '<div class="pagewidget widget-area">', 'after' => '</div>'));
WisdmLabsMemberHi Steve,
Add a class to your table like <table class="myClass">
Add the following css to your child theme's style.css.myClass td{ line-height:initial; height:230px; } .myClass td a{ line-height:0; display:table-cell; }
WisdmLabsMemberHi,
To remove the header only on home page, add the following code to your functions.php
add_action( 'genesis_before_header', 'wdm_remove_header_home' ); function wdm_remove_header_home() { if ( ! is_front_page() ) { return; } remove_action( 'genesis_header', 'genesis_header_markup_open', 5 ); remove_action( 'genesis_header', 'genesis_do_header' ); remove_action( 'genesis_header', 'genesis_header_markup_close', 15 ); }
Remove the navigation menu using
(Primary Nav)
<?php remove_action( 'genesis_after_header', 'genesis_do_nav' ); ?>
In your template add the menu at the desired place using
<?php wp_nav_menu( array('menu' => 'Menu Nav' )); ?>
October 30, 2014 at 11:46 pm in reply to: Putting Image icon in Secondary Navigation Menu(Top) in Metro Pro theme #129964WisdmLabsMemberHi,
You may add content to the navigation menu using filters.
Add this to your functions.phpadd_filter( 'wp_nav_menu_items', 'wdm_menu_extras', 10, 2 ); function wdm_menu_extras( $menu, $args ) { if ( 'secondary' !== $args->theme_location ) return $menu; $menu .= '<li class="menu-item wdm-image">Text</li>'; return $menu; }
Replace text with an img tag or any other content, it will get appended to the secondary menu
October 30, 2014 at 11:31 pm in reply to: Add widget to div within page content on Genesis landing page template #129962WisdmLabsMemberHi Richard,
In your landing page add this code inside your div where you need the widget content.
<?php genesis_widget_area( 'pagewidget', array( 'before' => '<div class="pagewidget widget-area">', 'after' => '</div>')); ?>
October 30, 2014 at 11:15 pm in reply to: Sample: Increasing the width of the header for dynamic text #129961WisdmLabsMemberHi,
I guess you are trying to change the width of the <div class=”title-area”> as per width of content.
Try the following css:
.title-area{ float: left; padding: 10px 0; width: auto; }
WisdmLabsMemberHi Carrie,
Try the following css:
.widget_nav_menu{ height: 55px; } #header .widget-area{ padding:5px 0 0; }
