Have you requested your free website audit yet?February 24, 2015 at 3:04 pm in reply to: Modifying post font attributes without modifying page font #142062Victor FontModeratorIf you add the following code to your functions.php, it will add an extra class to a post's entry-content div. You can use that new class to override the default font settings:
function vmf_post_content_extraclass( $attributes ) { if ( is_single() ) { $attributes['class'] = $attributes['class']. ' my-custom-class'; } return $attributes; } add_filter( 'genesis_attr_entry-content', 'vmf_post_content_extraclass' );

Have you requested your free website audit yet?Victor FontModeratorThat's going to require custom coding. Take a look at this article by Bil Erikson. It should help get you started in the right direction: http://www.billerickson.net/genesis-wordpress-nav-menu-content/
If that doesn't help, perhaps this one by Greg Rickaby will: http://gregrickaby.com/add-social-media-icons-to-genesis-without-a-plugin/

Have you requested your free website audit yet?Victor FontModeratorIf you want to change the very foundation of the Genesis Framework that much, you should probably not use the Genesis framework at all. Genesis is designed the way it is to provide the best SEO advantages, speed and structure available without going through a lot of custom coding. Personally, if I were to buy a child theme, I would want one built to work with the Genesis Framework as designed. Maybe you should look up the old adage, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."

Have you requested your free website audit yet?February 24, 2015 at 7:27 am in reply to: executive pro – need room for more main menu items #142010Victor FontModeratorChange the width of .site-header .widget-area to 880px. Change the padding in .site-header .genesis-nav-menu to padding: 38px 12px 40px;. The middle dimension for the padding will move your menu items closer together.

Have you requested your free website audit yet?February 24, 2015 at 7:17 am in reply to: Custom body class for specific categories and archives #142007Victor FontModeratoris_category tests whether you are displaying a category archive or not. If the page isn't a category archive, it will always return false. Looking at your menu in source code, I only see four category archive pages that are being displayed. These pages are Latest News, Media, Parish Plan, and Evacuation Guidelines. All four have the hsep class added at the end of the body class list. This means that is_category is returning true for all categories and is not honoring the array list. The probable reason the array is not being honored is because you haven't properly delimited your strings with quotes.
/* add a custom body class */ add_action( 'body_class', 'ilwp_add_my_bodyclass'); function ilwp_add_my_bodyclass( $classes ) { if ( is_category( array('parish-plan','residential-emergency-planning','business-emergency-planning','evacuation-guidelines') ) ) $classes[] = 'hsep'; return $classes; }

Have you requested your free website audit yet?Victor FontModeratorYou can do this. It requires editing the theme's home page template. Open front-page.php in an editor. Look for the line that reads:
add_filter( 'genesis_site_layout', '__genesis_return_content_sidebar' );
Comment this line out by adding // at the front of the line. Now add this line:
add_filter( 'genesis_site_layout', '__genesis_return_full_width_content' );
Save your file and you're good to go.

Have you requested your free website audit yet?Victor FontModeratorYou shouldn't have to do anything. Featured images are supported. Did you read the theme's setup instructions?
- For Content Archives, the default setting of “Display post content” is used in the demo.
- Leave the “Limit content to __ characters” option blank or set to 0.
- Check the “Include the Featured Image?” checkbox.
- Select the “post-image” size from the Image Size dropdown
- Using the drop down box, select “Numeric” for the “Post Navigation Technique.”

Have you requested your free website audit yet?Victor FontModeratorThe inline style is always inserted into the page when you use a logo image. Just add background-size: contain !important; to the .header-image .site-title a block in your style sheet.

Have you requested your free website audit yet?Victor FontModeratorIt's very unusual to see the widgets aligned horizontally on such a small screen. Generally, the most common practice is to assign of width of 100% to the widget once the screen shrinks below 1023px.
Anyway, all you need to do is change the font size. Look for the @media query section of style.css and add the following block to the appropriate media query:
.featured-circles.widget-area h2.entry-title a {
font-size: 17px;
}You can test the results here: http://www.studiopress.com/responsive/

Have you requested your free website audit yet?Victor FontModeratorposition: fixed is not a class. It is a css directive that gets inserted into the secondary-nav class. jQuery does not have to be touched. Nav position is controlled entirely by css.
