Have you requested your free website audit yet?Victor FontModeratorAccording to your source code, widgets 1 and 2 are being rendered, but there is definitely something wrong with how that page is being rendered. The Altitude Pro front-page.php as delivered out of the box replaces the default content loop with the widget areas whether they are populated or not. When I look at the source code on your site, widget areas 1 and 2 are rendered where they are supposed to be within the content loop. The rest of the widgets are outside of the content loop. This indicates that you either have a customization that has gone bad or you have broken HTML. When I use Firefox's view page source, you clearly have broken HTML that seems to be coming from front-page-2. I see at least two ending div tags without corresponding opening div tags as well as a closing section tag without a corresponding opening tag. Validate your HTML, find and fix the problems with your code and the page should render properly.

Have you requested your free website audit yet?Victor FontModeratorIt all depends on the theme you are using. The example site is using a custom theme from Brian Gardner. The large image is in a welcome widget area in front-page.php. You can always create your own widget area and render it in front-page.php.

Have you requested your free website audit yet?Victor FontModeratorThe number of footer widgets is handled through a theme support function. You may see a line like the following in functions.php:
//* Add support for 3-column footer widgets add_theme_support( 'genesis-footer-widgets', 3 );
If you have that line, simply change it to:
//* Add support for 2-column footer widgets add_theme_support( 'genesis-footer-widgets', 2 );

Have you requested your free website audit yet?Victor FontModeratorYou can move it to a different hook. You need to decide where you want it to go. Take a look at this code from the genesis/lib/structure/post.php:
// HTML5 Hooks. add_action( 'genesis_entry_header', 'genesis_do_post_format_image', 4 ); add_action( 'genesis_entry_header', 'genesis_entry_header_markup_open', 5 ); add_action( 'genesis_entry_header', 'genesis_entry_header_markup_close', 15 ); add_action( 'genesis_entry_header', 'genesis_do_post_title' ); add_action( 'genesis_entry_header', 'genesis_post_info', 12 ); add_action( 'genesis_entry_content', 'genesis_do_post_image', 8 ); add_action( 'genesis_entry_content', 'genesis_do_post_content' ); add_action( 'genesis_entry_content', 'genesis_do_post_content_nav', 12 ); add_action( 'genesis_entry_content', 'genesis_do_post_permalink', 14 ); add_action( 'genesis_entry_footer', 'genesis_entry_footer_markup_open', 5 ); add_action( 'genesis_entry_footer', 'genesis_entry_footer_markup_close', 15 ); add_action( 'genesis_entry_footer', 'genesis_post_meta' ); add_action( 'genesis_after_entry', 'genesis_do_author_box_single', 8 ); add_action( 'genesis_after_entry', 'genesis_adjacent_entry_nav' ); add_action( 'genesis_after_entry', 'genesis_get_comments_template' );
These are the default rendering actions for any post in Genesis. The action for breaking posts into page navigation is handled by genesis_do_post_content_nav. As you can see above, this is displayed directly after the content. There is nothing rendered in between the content and post content navigation. I suspect you may have adjacent entry nav turned on instead of post navigation. Make sure you use the default WordPress nextpage quicklink in your posts.
It's always possible that some customization to your theme, moved the post nav from it's normal position. News Pro does not do that out of the box.

Have you requested your free website audit yet?Victor FontModeratorAs soon as you use the header image, the Site Title and Description are hidden. They are still rendered in your HTML, but from a display perspective, you can either display the text or image. They other render in the same space. It's not a problem. It's the way it works.

Have you requested your free website audit yet?Victor FontModeratorThe word "best" when seeking a solution is very subjective. Everyone has their own idea about what "best" is to them. Please be specific with your requirements so people are inclined to help. Regardless of the slider you choose, you will no doubt run into the situation where you have to tweak the responsive CSS so things look good on your site.

Have you requested your free website audit yet?Victor FontModeratorIf you want something only on the home page, the easiest thing to do is add a new widget area to replace the footer widget area, then modify front-page.php to display the new area.

Have you requested your free website audit yet?Victor FontModeratorMost likely a caching issue. Turn off all caching while you are developing. If you are on a host like SiteGround that uses NGINX, turn off caching in cPanel. If you can't turn off caching, then clear your cache after every change. Hold the shift key down when you refresh a page so it forces the browser to reload the style sheet.

Have you requested your free website audit yet?Victor FontModeratorYou are pretty clear that you don't like the theme's mobile responsive menu, buy just saying that it's off putting doesn't say what you want in it's place. What are your requirements? What do you want to accomplish?

Have you requested your free website audit yet?Victor FontModeratorThere is always a CSS selector, it may be just the element tag and not a class or ID. To align the list element on the sample page, remove the margin-left: 40px from .entry-content ol, .entry-content ul at line 1226 in style.css.

Have you requested your free website audit yet?January 4, 2017 at 7:55 am in reply to: Minimum Pro: Possible to have static homepage content appear BEFORE widget area? #198744Victor FontModeratorThe widgetized front page and a static from page are mutually exclusive. If you are using a static front page, the widgetized front page is not used at all. If you want static content on a widgetized front page, you would put that content into a text widget. If you want widgets on a static front page, then you have to create a new page template and assign that template to the static page.

Have you requested your free website audit yet?Victor FontModeratorWhy are you using double break characters between paragraphs? Normally, you would just add bottom padding or margin to the p element to provide spacing between paragraphs.
The following line is bad HTML. The CSS is not declared correctly:
<div class="incontentblock style="width: 728px; height: 90px; width: auto; text-align: center; margin-bottom: 20px; padding-bottom: 20px;">
The correct code is:
<div class="incontentblock" style="width: 728px; height: 90px; width: auto; text-align: center; margin-bottom: 20px; padding-bottom: 20px;">
There's no reason to have both a class and inline styles. The inline styles override the class.
You have other bad HTML as well. I see ending p tags without opening p tags. Run your code through a validator. You have a lot of errors.

Have you requested your free website audit yet?Victor FontModeratorYou have jQuery errors on your site related to localscroll, maybe due to the minification. The responsive menu icon is added in one line of code in your theme's globla.js file. The facts that you have jQuery errors and the icon is added through jQuery indicates that you have a conflict somewhere. It's not coming from your social media icons. They are unrelated to your issue. The first step is to turn off minification to see if the errors go away. If that doesn't help, then disable all plugins and start the process of turning them on one at a time until you find an offender.
