This is very likely due to a plugin conflict. Deactivate all plugins and turn them on one at a time until the problem reappears.

Have you requested your free website audit yet?Victor FontModeratorThe Genesis Sample theme doesn't have a custom post_template. It uses the post template from the framework. You should never modify any framework file. You will eventually break your site and lose your work.
If you want a custom loop, you don't even need a custom post template. All you have to do is create your loop in functions.php, remove the standard loop action and hook your new function into the loop. This is one way to do it: http://www.genesissnippets.com/2012/09/15/genesis-custom-loop/.
If you Google Genesis Custom Loop, you find there are many ways to do what you want.

Have you requested your free website audit yet?Victor FontModeratorI'm not sure what you are are asking. You can remove a widget from the front-end display in the customizer, but you can't delete it. To delete a widget, which is to permanently remove it from your theme, you have to edit functions.php and possibly front-page.php. This isn't possible from the customizer.
Widgets will not appear on a static home page. Widgets will display when you have the home page set to show posts and you have content populated in the widget. That's when front-page.php takes over. If you have a static home page, the widgetized front page is not used at all. You'll still have header and footer widgets, but content area widgets aren't even being accessed. If you want widgets on a static home page, you have to create a new page template for that particular page that renders the widgets.

Have you requested your free website audit yet?Victor FontModeratorYes you can. You just need to hook it into the right place. If you want it on the front page, then you add the second part of the code to front-page.php. This tutorial is for a different Studio Press theme, but the process is the same: https://victorfont.com/add-widget-areas-to-news-pro-theme/

Have you requested your free website audit yet?Victor FontModeratorI don't know what theme you are using, so I can't tell you what theme slug to use. Where you have 'Genesis' in your code, this should be the theme slug. I suggest you open functions.php and look for any other genesis_register_sidebar code.
genesis_register_sidebar will register the widget area so it appears in your Appearance/Widgets menu in the admin area. It does not display the widget on any page however. To display the widget area, you need to edit front-page.php. Older themes use home.php. Front-page.php is used for the more modern themes. You very likely have a function in that page that has the code for displaying the widget. You just need to copy the code from another widget area and modify it so it reflects your changes.
Here's a tutorial I did for another Studio Press theme, but the process is the same. https://victorfont.com/add-widget-areas-to-news-pro-theme/

Have you requested your free website audit yet?Victor FontModeratorYou can try moving things around. Add this to functions.php:
remove_action( 'genesis_entry_content', 'genesis_do_post_content_nav', 12 ); add_action( 'genesis_entry_content', 'genesis_do_post_content_nav' ); remove_action( 'genesis_after_entry', 'genesis_do_author_box_single', 8 ); add_action( 'genesis_after_entry', 'genesis_do_author_box_single', 12 );
I tested this in my local environment and it works fine, but I have to warn you that if you have any plugins that write content to the content area, such as social sharing plugins do, you still may not achieve what your want.

Have you requested your free website audit yet?Victor FontModeratorjQuery and jQuery Migrate are WordPress Core files. If you try to load them in the footer and any other file loaded in the header is dependent upon them, they will load in the header anyway. Whatever the case, you can try adding this to functions.php:
function enqueue_jquery_in_footer( &$scripts ) { if ( ! is_admin() ) $scripts->add_data( 'jquery', 'group', 1 ); $scripts->add_data( 'jquery-core', 'group', 1 ); $scripts->add_data( 'jquery-migrate', 'group', 1 ); } } add_action( 'wp_default_scripts', 'enqueue_jquery_in_footer' );
For home.js, this file is loaded in front-page.php. Look for the following line of code at line 23:
wp_enqueue_script( 'altitude-script', get_bloginfo( 'stylesheet_directory' ) . '/js/home.js', array( 'jquery' ), '1.0.0' );
Change it to:
wp_enqueue_script( 'altitude-script', get_bloginfo( 'stylesheet_directory' ) . '/js/home.js', array( 'jquery' ), '1.0.0', true );
Keep in mind that whenever you change the default load order of scripts, you can experience unforeseen consequences. If something doesn't work, just reverse what you've done and troubleshoot why.

Have you requested your free website audit yet?Victor FontModeratorYour fix is not simple. You have CSS elements for the header image that render it non-responsive. I was adjusting things on your site with my browser inspect tool to get the header image to display responsively and you have a lot that needs to be changed. It's far more than I can document here. I suggest you use a mobile responsive test site and your browser inspect tool to find all that needs to be changed. I use this site for mobile responsive testing: http://semalt.design
