Have you requested your free website audit yet?Victor FontModeratorWhat you've done is the exact way all Google fonts are loaded in the newer Studio Press themes. Functions that begin with wp_ are WordPress core functions. Details and explanations about them can be found in the WordPress codex and/or on the developer.wordpress.org. Functions that begin with genesis_ are Genesis Framework core.

Have you requested your free website audit yet?Victor FontModeratorYou can overlay a photo with text in any theme, regardless of whether it is based on Genesis or not. It's all done through CSS, which is not theme dependent.

Have you requested your free website audit yet?Victor FontModeratorBoth Divi and Visual Composer insert shorcodes into your content that they leave behind when you deactivate thm. In essence, they damage your content and leave it dirty. If you want to work with a page builder that doesn't mess up your content, try Beaver Builder. I can't help you with the slider question. I don't use page builders. The code they generate is too bloated.

Have you requested your free website audit yet?July 3, 2017 at 7:42 am in reply to: Amazon CPM ads not showing up in text widgets after WP 4.8, Genesis 2.5.2 update #208605Victor FontModeratorI've looked at your site and the Amazon scripts you have in the code. The only thing I can think of that is possibly at the root of the issue is timing. The only Amazon code that I see that executes when a page loads is writing a link to the add generation Javascript files into the DOM after the page is loaded in the browser. As far as I can tell, this would just write the link and not actually download anything. I suspect that once the link is written, nothing is triggering it to execute. It's a very odd way to call for an ad.
I don't know how you would fix this, but I think the solution lies with Amazon support, not WordPress or Genesis.

Have you requested your free website audit yet?Victor FontModeratorYou're talking about the Genesis Author Pro plugin and not the theme? The plugin creates the CPTs, not the child theme. The Author Pro plugin removes all default Genesis actions in /functions/template.php.
To restore the comments for book CPTs, add this to functions.php:
add_action('pre_get_posts', 'restore_comments'); function restore_comments() { add_action( 'genesis_after_entry', 'genesis_get_comments_template' ); }

Have you requested your free website audit yet?July 1, 2017 at 6:43 am in reply to: Custom Logo size in Smart Passive Income Pro? help needed. #208558Victor FontModeratorI'm glad you were able to change the logo dimensions. As with any change that falls outside of the intended design, it will usually require you to change other elements that are meant to work with each other. The other changes you have to make are just CSS, but since I don't know what those changes are that you envision, here are some helpful tools to get you started.
First, here's an explanation about how the Genesis Header layout works. Ignore the part about centering the logo: https://victorfont.com/understanding-genesis-framework-site-header-layout/
Second, it will be much easier to figure out which CSS to change if you use your browser's inspection tool: https://victorfont.com/how-to-use-your-browsers-inspect-tool/
To align the new logo and the menu, you have a couple of options to choose from. You can move the logo lower by adjusting its position in CSS, or, you can make the header-right widget area narrower by adjusting the height of the menu area or the menu padding. Right now the height of the logo area is 50px and the height of the header-right widget area is 80px. This is your choice and you should test you changes with the inspect tool to make sure your changes are aesthetically pleasing.

Have you requested your free website audit yet?July 1, 2017 at 5:55 am in reply to: Place Phone Number Next to Hamburger Menu in Executive Pro? #208556Victor FontModeratorYes, you can change the text to a phone, but the way the jQuery works to display the menu button, you can't make the phone number clickable to dial the phone. To do that, you would have to customize the jQuery.
To change the word 'Menu' to a phone number, edit functions.pp and look for this code around line line 76:
// Define our responsive menu settings. function executive_responsive_menu_settings() { $settings = array( 'mainMenu' => __( 'Menu', 'executive-pro' ), 'subMenu' => __( 'Submenu', 'executive-pro' ), 'menuClasses' => array( 'combine' => array( '.nav-header', '.nav-primary', ), ), ); return $settings; }
Simply change the word 'Menu' in the array to your phone number.

Have you requested your free website audit yet?Victor FontModeratorThis has nothing to do with the updates. You have custom CSS somewhere that is hiding the titles:
.home .entry-title { display: none; }
The location says custom.css line 41.

Have you requested your free website audit yet?Victor FontModeratorAre you using any caching or minification plugins? When you enable SSL with your plugin, the URLs for all of site's assets are changed to https in real time. Caching and minification plugins wouldn't necessarily pick up those changes.

Have you requested your free website audit yet?Victor FontModeratorYou changed the site-header padding in the wrong place. It is defined in multiple places. Look in the media queries. Make sure you clear all caches so the browser picks up changes. Also make sure you use your browser's inspect tool to test the changes before you make them permanent. https://victorfont.com/how-to-use-your-browsers-inspect-tool/
