The down arrows are displayed in the before pseudo element. Search style.css for
.genesis-nav-menu.responsive-menu > .menu-item-has-children::before
and add a color to the CSS.

Have you requested your free website audit yet?Victor FontModeratorThe website you offer as the examplar is not protecting their images. In Firefox I can view the background image and save it. Without disabling right click, there isn't much you can do. This article expresses prevailing thought: https://graphpaperpress.com/blog/protect-website-image-stealing/

Have you requested your free website audit yet?Victor FontModeratorWhat you are calling the second row is the space beneath the header. The header area has a full border. Remove the border-bottom from .pricing-table .price-heading at line 1551 in style.css.

Have you requested your free website audit yet?Victor FontModeratorUpgrade Genesis first, then upgrade WordPress. There's no need to ever upgrade a child theme because the functionality comes from Genesis. If you want to upgrade Executive Pro, it's a manual process. You have to apply all of your customizations from the current theme to the new theme or your customizations will be lost by upgrading. As for PHP 7, it is the WordPress recommended version: https://wordpress.org/about/requirements/

Have you requested your free website audit yet?Victor FontModeratorThere is nothing wrong with your Genesis theme. Genesis does nothing to affect permalinks. If you are using Yoast, it creates multiple sitemaps that Google uses for indexing. Disable the category sitemap in Yoast.

Have you requested your free website audit yet?Victor FontModeratorVisual Composer is like Divi in that it embeds and leaves shortcodes in content. If you ever move away from one of these content embedders, you are left with a mess on your hands. Here's why I dislike them so much: https://victorfont.com/remove-divi-shortcodes-changing-themes/

Have you requested your free website audit yet?Victor FontModeratorVisual composers provide a drag and drop interface for designing pages. If the only content you are creating is blog posts, I don't see the purpose for a visual composer. If you have to use a Visual Design tool, take a look at Beaver Builder. It's one of the few out there that doesn't embed shortcodes into your content.

Have you requested your free website audit yet?Victor FontModeratorIf the previous developer knew what he/she was doing with Genesis, then there wouldn't have been any modifications made to the Framework at all. Developer modifications are made to child themes, which are generally not updated. The framework should be safe to update. But not knowing what the previous developer did or didn't do, it would be wise to make a backup before updating nevertheless.

Have you requested your free website audit yet?Victor FontModeratorI published the Classic text widget plugin to the repo. WordPress text widgets by default won't execute shortcodes. You have to turn that functionality on with a filter. Christina and I turned the functionality on by default in our plugin.

Have you requested your free website audit yet?Victor FontModeratorStart with the genesis_markup function. Nothing is generated through the child theme unless you write a custom function to override the framework. All the functionality is in the framework, primarily in the lib directory. Virtually all generated HTML is modifiable through filters. For the menu details look at the menu functions.

Have you requested your free website audit yet?Victor FontModeratorYou shouldn't have to modify Genesis at all. You would use the featured product shortcode to display featured products on a page and the featured product widget if you want to display or link to them in a sidebar. https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/woocommerce-shortcodes/
