I've got three sites that are built on Genesis Sample that all use Amazon CPM ads in text widgets. They were working fine until I updated all three sites to WP 4.8 and Genesis 2.5.2. I knew about the Text Widget situation with 4.8 and installed Victor Font's Classic Text Widget immediately and copy-pasted the code over to those new widgets, deleting the old ones.

Now all the ads are not showing up on the sites. I can look at the HTML and see that Amazon code IS showing up in the output, but no ads are showing up.

We have also tried using the Black Studio TinyMCE widget, obviously in Text mode.

Here is one of the three sites as an example. Go to the footer area and you'll find a gap between the quote box and the copyright footer. You'll see the Amazon ad code in the HTML, proving the code is there. I've got no "display: none" action going on here. We're baffled why this is going on.

We even added fresh code from Amazon directly into text mode on widgets. No luck.

I've looked at your site and the Amazon scripts you have in the code. The only thing I can think of that is possibly at the root of the issue is timing. The only Amazon code that I see that executes when a page loads is writing a link to the add generation Javascript files into the DOM after the page is loaded in the browser. As far as I can tell, this would just write the link and not actually download anything. I suspect that once the link is written, nothing is triggering it to execute. It's a very odd way to call for an ad.

I don't know how you would fix this, but I think the solution lies with Amazon support, not WordPress or Genesis.

The code where it is not showing up is writing to a div with the id mNSC which is not there.

Thank you, Victor and Carasmo for your input. We'll check with Amazon. The more we looked at it, the more it seems it's an Amazon issue because it doesn't make sense.

Just add this before the js

    <div id="mNSC"></div>
