January 2, 2015 at 5:32 am in reply to: How to modify Footer #1 to display content Horizontally? #135851Tim SquiresMemberTim SquiresMemberUse Firebug or a similar web developer tool and look for the following code (or just find it in your style sheet)
#header { height: 150px; background-color: #FFF; }
Change the height value to zero and the space should vanish.
Don't forget to take notes of what you did so that you can revert back in future if you need to.
January 2, 2015 at 5:21 am in reply to: Remove Site Title from showing in mobile responsive display #135848Tim SquiresMemberIt looks as though you have not yet switched off the dynamic text that is set by default. That means that the text is sitting on top of the logo that you have uploaded. If you turn the dynamic text off, it should fix the problem.
January 2, 2015 at 5:16 am in reply to: How do I edit the structure (HTML) of Genesis Framework? #135846Tim SquiresMemberMy understanding is that the actual HTML is generated by the source code that is produced by the PHP coding contained in your template files, so there is no actual HTML file in the WordPress directories that you can edit directly.
Tim SquiresMemberI'm not sure, but this tutorial might help you:

Tim SquiresMemberThis article explains how to use Google fonts in your website.

Sorry, but I'm not sure how to fix your nav problem, but I hope the fonts work for you.
Tim SquiresMemberTim SquiresMemberThe white area idea might work, but rather than use padding, can you edit the actual image? (in Photoshop or similar)
You may be able to create an image with the correct area of white to the right, and then set that to be the featured image.
Tim SquiresMemberThat sounds like you need to use hooks. I'm not sure of the specific code to achieve that, but the Genesis Visual Hook Guide plugin will show you where each hook is on your webpage.
A great resource is Carrie Dils' Lynda.com tutorial on customizing Genesis. Carrie explains hooks really well and is well worth checking out.

Tim SquiresMemberTim SquiresMemberYou could try using the Modern Portfolio theme with the Featured Widget Amplified plugin installed.
That plugin lets you identify and display either posts or pages in the widget areas, based on their identity.
I'm not sure how many pages you could display on the front page, but it might be worth a try.
Tim SquiresMemberI just tried making a local install of Executive Pro and set up the slider to try and trouble-shoot the problem, but it works OK on my local server with the image dimensions that you are using.
I'm sorry that I'm no help - I can't explain why your version isn't working, but it may be worthwhile submitting a support ticket directly to StudioPress, and mention the odd computed value that you noticed.
I hope that may be at least a possible lead and a small help.
Tim SquiresMemberSorry, I just realised that I misunderstood your problem. Hang on a while and I'll try something else...
Tim SquiresMemberAre the images in the slider set as featured images, or are they being pulled in from images in your posts/pages?
Try making an image at exactly the same size as the Genesis slider settings (1140x440) and set it as a featured image.
December 27, 2014 at 10:24 pm in reply to: get rid of white spaces in navigation menu – lifestyle theme #135441Tim SquiresMemberHi,
Try playing with the background color value in this CSS. It starts around line 1007 in your CSS file. Match the background color value with your required color..genesis-nav-menu { clear: both; font-size: 14px; line-height: 1; width: 100%; background-color: /*--your color goes here--*/; }
Tim SquiresMemberTim SquiresMemberTim SquiresMemberHi Susan,
You are worth your weight in gold - thank you! Here's the result that I have right now:http://timsquires.com.au/tiger/wp-content/uploads/2014/04/01APR14.jpg
It's getting much closer now — all that remains is to remove the white space around each image, so that it fills the area (like the 1140px image is almost doing)
I hate to ask more of you after all of your time and effort, but do you have any thoughts on how that may be achieved?
I'll keep experimenting in the meantime.
Thanks again — very much appreciated.
Tim
Tim SquiresMemberHi Susan,
Thanks very much again — the design that we have does need to have a full width header, and we were going to smaller versions of it for the smaller screen sizes by re-arranging the type and images within it.I would really like to do as you suggest and add in the additional media query sizes to the theme.
In order to do that, should I just add the code to the end of the style sheet like this?
@media only screen and (max-width: 1140px) { .header-image .site-title a { background: url(http://timsquires.com.au/tiger/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/mast1140.jpg) no-repeat; height: 155px; @media only screen and (max-width: 768px) { .header-image .site-title a { background: url(http://timsquires.com.au/tiger/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/mast768.jpg) no-repeat; height: 155px; width: 100%; } @media only screen and (max-width: 480px) { .header-image .site-title a { background: url(http://timsquires.com.au/tiger/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/mast480.jpg) no-repeat; height: 155px; } @media only screen and (max-width: 320px) { .header-image .site-title a { background: url(http://timsquires.com.au/tiger/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/mast320.jpg) no-repeat; height: 155px; width: 100%; } @media only screen and (max-width: 240px) { .header-image .site-title a { background: url(http://timsquires.com.au/tiger/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/mast240.jpg) no-repeat; height: 155px; width: 100%; }
