Hello, I am also having issues with my Executive theme mobile display and wondered if anyone may have some insights.
my url is:
http://timsquires.com.au/executive
I have adjusted the logo to make it bigger on the page. It looks fine on my desktop, but when I view the mobile version on my iPhone part of the logo gets cut off (it won't resize properly).
Is there an adjustment that I need to make in the responsive design area CSS?
Many thanks
Tim SquiresMemberUpdate: I have managed to position the nav bar where required and it displays well on my Mac. But there are issues when viewed on my iPhone - the logo won't resize properly and part of it is cut off, and there is an excessive gap between the logo and the mobile nav bar, which I think has been caused by the extra margin that I added for the desktop version display. Here is the CSS:
/* Widget Area --------------------------------------------- */ .site-header .widget-area { float: right; width: 60%; /--changed from 820px--*/ } .site-header .widget { padding: 28px 0 0; padding: 2.8rem 0 0; margin-top: 3rem; /*--added in--*/ }
Grateful for any suggestions - as always 🙂
Tim SquiresMemberNo problem at all - I really appreciate your help and suggestions. I'll persevere with Firebug and crack that code 🙂 Thanks again!
Tim SquiresMemberThanks! That's great. I also changed the values in the CSS to match the new values in functions.php
.header-image .title-area, .header-image .site-title, .header-image .site-title a { float: left; margin: 0; max-width: 410px; /*--changed from 260px to match new value in functions.php allowing new logo size--*/ min-height: 158px; /*--changed from 100px to match new value in functions.php allowing new logo size--*/ padding: 0; width: 100%; }
It look much better - only problem now is that the nav bar has been pushed down and out of alignment. Any idea of how to fix that? Thanks so much for your help so far.

Tim SquiresMemberApologies again, the link posting function doesn't seem to be working. To see the example please navigate to
Tim SquiresMemberTim SquiresMemberThanks! I've got it now - I actually had to make the change here:
.genesis-nav-menu a { color: #fff; /*--changed from #666---*/ display: block; padding: 16px 20px; padding: 1.6rem 2rem; position: relative; }
That made the nav links white - but best of all, they change back to their dark color on a white background when you hover over them, so that's a great bonus 🙂
Thanks very much for your help and steering me in the right direction - much appreciated.

Tim SquiresMemberHi Andrea,
That's great - thanks so much. I'm having a little trouble changing the color of the type, but will persevere - and at least I have the transparent nav bar now and am on the right track 🙂
Cheers,
Tim
Tim SquiresMemberHi Chris - thanks very much, a perfect result and much appreciated!
It worked fine without the extra plugin too, so a very elegant and simple solution.
Thanks again ,
Tim
Tim SquiresMemberHello Chris01, I have just found this thread and wondered if you had solved your problem. I am having similar issues - I have set up my portfolio according the Balance theme instructions and it works fine. The problem is that my portfolio images show up in my blog as posts and I don't want this to happen. On the demo site the blog posts and portfolio items are separate and I am trying to replicate this. If you have any advice I would be grateful. Many thanks, Tim
Tim SquiresMemberSorry - not sure why that code displayed like that. But the format that I needed has been found. Thanks.
Tim SquiresMemberProblem solved - I found this code on the landing page template within the theme 🙂 Thanks
Tim SquiresMemberThanks, I worked it out - the blog post headings are also links and so required a value assigned to that specific element. Hope this may help someone else 🙂
h1,
h2,
h2 a,
h2 a:visited {
font-size: 30px;
color: #d6244c;
}
Tim SquiresMemberHi, I have been able to change the color of the headings on my “services” page to #5397b4. I did this by pasting this code into the headings section of CSS:
....sorry that color value is wrong and should have been #d6244c
Tim
Tim SquiresMemberThanks Brad - that worked. I just took out the a: visited and pasted the code under the home welcome section. (The snippet is at the bottom here) Thanks again for your help and patience. Tim
/* Home Welcome
------------------------------------------------------------ */#home-welcome {
padding: 20px 30px;
}#home-welcome,
#home-welcome p {
color: #fff;
font-size: 18px;
text-align: center;
text-shadow: 1px 1px #000;
margin-top:10px;
}
#home-welcome p {
color: #ffdddd;
}#home-welcome .widget_text a {
color: #FFCC00;
}
Tim SquiresMemberHi Brad, many thanks - that almost worked. 🙂 But will the new color only be visible after the link has been visited? And is it possible to make the change specific to just the home-welcome widget area? (I need to keep the default color for the links on all other areas of the site.)
Many thanks for your help.
Tim SquiresMemberHi Brad, thanks very much for your help. I'm on the right track now, very much appreciated. Tim
Tim SquiresMemberThanks Brad, yes - I made sure that the slider settings were the same as my image size, but they display smaller in the slider area. Any thoughts?
Tim SquiresMemberGreat Robin, thanks - that seems to have worked. I've really appreciated your help with this, thanks so much 🙂
