If you get stuck with something, post back and I'll check it out (also include a link to your site!)
SusanModeratorTake a look at this visual mark-up guide - it shows each of the areas which make up the width of your site:
SusanModeratorYou can try this plug-in:
http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-display-header/
Or you can make changes through your code. Here are a couple of threads which asked similar questions:
Best practice for displaying a different header image on each page?
SusanModeratorYou're welcome - just let me know if you need any additional help with tweaking.
SusanModeratorMary - sorry - I was out, so didn't see this until now.
To add the sidebar back in, remove this code from your Home.php:
add_filter( 'genesis_pre_get_option_site_layout', '__genesis_return_full_width_content' );
SusanModeratorSorry - wasn't thinking about the menu area in the header right.
Make adjustments here:
#header .widget-area { float: right; padding: 25px 20px 0 0; width: 530px; }
SusanModeratorNice job!
To be included in the showcase, you should make a submission here: http://www.studiopress.com/contact
SusanModeratorAssociate is not mobile responsive out of the box, so to speak.
I'm not aware of a plugin which will accomplish what you are looking for (which is not to say that one doesn't exist).
Take a look at the themes here: http://my.studiopress.com/themes/, and select "Mobile Responsive" from the drop-down to select which ones are mobile responsive.
SusanModeratorThe easiest solution is to find a wider theme π
But, a theme with a width of 960px can be fairly easily changed if you are comfortable with CSS (I did it on my own site when I first started playing with StudioPress, and I had NO CSS knowledge at that time).
Here's the visual markup guide, which will show you all the areas you will need to change:
SusanModeratorTry going into your slider's stylesheet to make the change.
SusanModeratorTo change the header size, look for this in your functions.php file:
/** Add support for custom header */ add_theme_support( 'genesis-custom-header', array( 'width' => 1060, 'height' => 120 ) );
Adjust for the size header you would like to upload.
To change the font size of post titles, look for this in your stylesheet:
h2, h2 a, h2 a:visited { font-size: 42px; }
Adjust accordingly.
SusanModeratorIn the primary sidebar, the title areas are in H4, not H2. Are you checking the box "Show post title"? If so, uncheck it, and just use the widget's title area. That way, you don't need to adjust the size of the heading.
SusanModeratorMary - The sidebar widget area has some padding that you could probably adjust:
Look for this:
.sidebar .widget { margin: 0; padding: 30px 40px; }
Play around with that to get the look you want.
SusanModeratorMary - adding the sidebar back in is pretty straightforward (I tested that, too!), but as @weslinda said, you may need to make other tweaks to have it look as pretty as the theme was intended without the sidebar.
SusanModeratorMary - in your home.php file, move the code for the CTA from below "Home - Top" to above it (so that it's between the Slider and the Home - Top
genesis_widget_area( 'home-cta', array( 'before' => '<div class="home-cta widget-area">', ) ); genesis_widget_area( 'home-top', array( 'before' => '<div class="home-top widget-area">', ) );
I just tested it on my test site, and it worked, but as it's PHP you're playing with, I recommend keeping a clean copy of your home.php file on hand if you need to re-load it to your hosting site π
SusanModeratorCan you please provide me a link to your site, so I can see your code.
SusanModeratorCan you please provide a link to your site? I've just installed this widget on a client's site, and it's responsive.
SusanModeratorThanks for sharing!
SusanModeratorIf I'm understanding your questions correctly, you don't want certain posts which appear in your slider to be clickable, but want others to be?
If you don't want the the reader to click through to a dead-end post, go into the post and edit it. Scroll down toΒ Custom Redirect URIΒ [?], and either type in the URL of your homepage or #.
