this worked to remove the title: remove_action('genesis_entry_header', 'genesis_do_post_title');
mmjaegerMemberThanks for the input Brad - unfortunately, this doesn't work - page title still shows up.
Indeed, I'm using a static front page at the moment - what kind of difference does it make as to removing the page title?
Please allow me another question - when using a custom home page in most examples I've seen people create half a dozen widget areas - although this is very flexible I personally believe that this is not very user friendly - a user can easily get lost in all those widget areas in the backend - what's more, there's no wysiwyg available for the widget areas.
What I was wondering is whether I could a plain page that does not use any template but still offers the wysiwyg area and basically import the content it into the dynamic front page using a short code for instance - this would allow me to still show some latest news after the content and would give the user/client a user-friendly UI to edit the content?
Thanks again.
mmjaegerMemberwhat I was also wondering is whether there's a .pot file available for the Genesis 2.0 Sample Theme
mmjaegerMemberI ran into the same issue and honestly, I don't understand why Studiopress not just adds a .wrap class to the .site-inner class - that way it would be more consistent.
mmjaegerMemberno intention to edit core-folders - I was wondering why those javascript file are loaded in the front-end - if they are needed and if not how to prevent those from loading.
mmjaegerMemberit's local - nothing to show - I just need some instructions on how to set up a third navigation bar - if you could point me into the right direction that would be nice.
thanks
mmjaegerMemberwhat kind of translation plug - any recommendations
mmjaegerMemberbump
mmjaegerMemberThanks Brad
Do you think pods would be overkill - do I need a plugin at all or is there an easy way to do it without using a plugin?mmjaegerMemberit's not wordpress and it is not Genesis - looks like a custom table based website
mmjaegerMemberBump
mmjaegerMemberI'd be interested in this one as well?!
mmjaegerMemberyou add it to your child's theme functions.php file
mmjaegerMemberI'm actually using the regenerate thumbnail plugin quite often - however that doesn't help in my case - I'd love to have a full-width slider but I first need a way to reexport my pictures larger than 1024.
mmjaegerMemberI see - thanks
as to full width you're talking about 1140px, right - I still have to kind of figure out how to do this - I've hundreds and hundreds of pictures in wordpress originally exported from Apple Aperture at 1024px wide - I couldn't find a solution yet that would allow me to re-export those pictures from Aperture based on the file content of wp-content/uploads - it would take me probably weeks to do this manually.
mmjaegerMemberthanks wpspeak - didn't work for me - the content was before the image - anyway what I like to do is basically have the image float to the left and title, info and content to the right of the picture - the following worked for me now:
`remove_action( 'genesis_entry_content', 'genesis_do_post_image' );
remove_action( 'genesis_post_content', 'genesis_do_post_image' );
add_action('genesis_entry_header','genesis_do_post_image', 4);
add_action( 'genesis_before_post_title', 'genesis_do_post_image' );`mmjaegerMemberfor instance something like this
`
/**
* Grid Image Sizes by Bill Erickson
*
*/
function child_grid_image_sizes() {
echo 'setting up sizes';
var_dump();
add_image_size( 'child_grid', 175, 120, true );
add_image_size( 'child_feature', 570, 333, true );
}
add_action( 'genesis_setup', 'child_grid_image_sizes', 20 );`mmjaegerMemberthat is the full code
mmjaegerMemberany updates on this
