Brad, I should clarify the typo in my original post. What I meant to say was, even if you don't have a featured image attached, looks like all new widgets and archive pages will show an image properly if you insert it, say at the beginning of each post. If you enable the switch that you suggested and include an additional featured image with some newer Pro themes, you will actually get duplicate thumbnails in archive pages now.
So my question still stands. Does anyone else still attach a featured image in addition to an image at the beginning of a post anymore?
MealtogMemberExactly. With Pro themes, at least the ones that I tested, doing the right things without a featured image, do we still need to attach one moving forward. Just wondering if there is a requirement elsewhere for featured images.
MealtogMemberMetric looks like a corporate type theme. Check out Executive Pro? By the way, I am not sure but I just assume all Pro themes are responsive.
MealtogMemberOk have bee digging around for a few hours now city no resolution. Can anyone shed some light on his matter? I would like to make it so drafts have revisions as well. Any ideas in where to start?
MealtogMemberok, just went into a a published post and under screen options, I don't even see a Revisions box now. Any ideas of where I can trouble shoot this?
MealtogMemberThanks ramseyp, I finally installed Simple Local Avatars and made it work that way. Is it me or is it so 1999 to not let users upload their own avatar locally? 🙂
MealtogMember@swilkins, I don't think the info is being hidden. I am a fan here but I do think SP is swamped and cannot keep up. Again, this is only my sense of things. Like you said, why would SP staff NOT want customers to be able to search and easily make a purchase. I can only think that like any other business, they are too swamped and are working on more important things.
What would be best is to have more filters in place. Today, who really wants a new site that is NOT responsive? It is not easy to filter out responsive + HTML5 at this point.
LOL: What do you know. They have added an HTML 5 filter in the Themes section.
MealtogMember@swilkins, you are not the only one confused when looking for HTML5 themes so not to worry. Others have stated that you will see the word Pro when you visit the download section. If you did not buy the Plus version, then you will not have access to view all downlaodable themes. I was not able to locate the demo for the Pro versions easily but here are 2 blog psots that will link to them. And not to worry, I am frustrated with this whole HTML5 transition time as well.
Hope these can help:

MealtogMemberLet's hope we can translate these over any customization to the newer HTML5 themes once they get released. Thanks again!
MealtogMemberThanks for the reply. I will have to try this. I wasn't sure if it really was as easy as what I thought it would be. Let's hope it is.
Thanks for chiming in RobG. Appreciate it.
MealtogMemberI have been asking this question since before Gen 2 was released. If you find out, let us know!
MealtogMemberSo after re-reading this thread, may I ask the two posters why you think a Theme change will not search engine rankings? In my opinion, it is a distinct possibility as it changes all the on-page formulas. Keyword density is changed, the first line where your content body starts also changes for the most part. This is like feeding a whole new source page to the search engines.
Can anyone else comment on this?
MealtogMemberThis is almost getting to the point of irritation. Some of us poor saps purchased the full meal deal anticipating the Gen 2 release and now, there are only 2 new themes to work with. Yes, we can work with an old theme but having to re-customize a theme once the new one rolls out is not an option here.
I just cannot believe I feel like a sucker, having sold the client on a great framework but there are only 2 newer compatible themes...
Am I the only one getting annoyed here?
Add-On: Looks like there is a 3rd theme released. But it's not one of the more popular ones. And for us to get that theme to feel more like Metro or any other more popular theme is going to take a lot of work. Not feeling good about moving to Gen 2 at all at this point...
MealtogMemberLet's put it this way, I cannot wait until more themes are re-released for pro customers.
MealtogMemberThat is not good. Which part if different? It seems similar in IE 10 and Chrome here.
MealtogMemberIf Gen 2 or Metro decreased SEO signals, that is unsettling for sure.
MealtogMemberThis is a heated topic. Consensus is, Disqus is powerful with antispam, coolness but WP default commenting yields more comments. If you do run Disqus using a plugin, I think comments also gets written to your WP database so if you ever decide to remove disqus, your comments are still there. Have not done this, just read it somewhere so better confirm this with the plugin developers.
August 10, 2013 at 12:02 am in reply to: Why you shouldn't fear updating to Genesis 2.0 [from 1.9, but should from 2.0RC2 #55400MealtogMemberThanks Gary. I can't spend more time trying to get the tech things ironed out. For me, it was easier to completely uninstall RC2, re-install 1.9.2 then reinstate Metro theme. I thought Drupal setups were complicated lol
I just cannot wait till the new Metro is released.
MealtogMemberHow do I roll back to 1.9 so I can upgrade to 2? I Have RC2 now and don't want to do the manual tweaks.

Is this functions.php for Genesis or the Child Theme or both?
This almost seems easier to start from scratch for those of us still starting a new site. Yikes.
