Hi nicole2014,
Sorry you're having problems.
Is it possible that caching is the problem? It looks like you may be changing but it's obscured by your caching plugin. Empty your cache and use your browsers inspector to see where the color's being set.
Andrea has shared this link on the browser inspector.
Warm Regards,
TerryTerryMemberHi Mike,
Child themes provide different levels of customization via the Customizer. Sorry it's not just a color wheel selection.
You'll need to delve into css for that color change in Magazine Pro. Once the dark brown is changed, you may need to touch the font color as well.
Hope that helps.
Terry
TerryMemberHi Robert,
The short answer is yes. What's your child theme?
Are you displaying a logo in the header? Most StudioPress child themes hide the title and description when you add a logo so you'll need to modify the CSS that hides the description.

TerryMemberHi Geekdom,
To share some things I've learned about Responsive Design... (There are many great books and articles, if you want to delve deeper the folks over at A List Apart have some of the best)
If you're using a Mobile First responsive approach your min-width media queries will start small and grow... Your approach is starting with the smallest mobile screen and growing with increased screen size. Like a waterfall, each previous query is applied to the next graduation and added to.
If you're using a Desktop first, you max-width queries will start large and decrease. Here your approach is to design first for the desktop, working larger to smaller.
In both cases your core css remains above the media queries.
Hope this helps.

TerryMemberFantastic, glad it helped.
Please mark this thread closed if you're all set.
TerryMemberHi Matt,
Andrea has this great tutorial on using the inspect tool in your browser.
The inspect tool can help you see the paddings that are keeping your map from filling the section.
You can then edit the style.css file or add css via the Customizer=>Additional CSS.
Happy Styling!
TerryTerryMemberHi MikeC,
Is it possible that your date format is being impacted by a plugin or code in your functions.php file?
I ask because both changes (d F, Y and l, F j, Y) applied to
Settings=>General=>Date Format ->Custom field
moved the date fields for me.Note that (d F, Y) placed the date number first and (l, F j, Y) placed the day of the week first.
Hope this helps.
May 8, 2018 at 5:56 am in reply to: How to change Genesis sample child theme from 2 columns to 3 columns for #219635TerryMemberAnother approach is to set the default layout in WP Admin => Genesis => Theme settings (or via the Customizer).
Layout can also be applied to the individual page, via the layout setting in the editor (be sure Layout Settings are enabled under Screen Options at the top of the editor page).
TerryMemberTerryMemberIt looks like you resolved the space and the footer issues?

TerryMemberHi,
When you configure the Genesis Sample Child Theme menu in the Customizer, the Primary Nav is located in the top right menu area, not below it.
Hope that helps,
TerryApril 18, 2018 at 12:11 pm in reply to: Sixteen-nine Pro: changing color of mobile "drop down" menu #219082TerryMemberHi Felix,
You can inspect your by right clicking on the page and selecting "Inspect" or "Inspect Element." The Inspector allows you to view (or inspect) the elements in your page, the css, etc. but it also lets you make temporary edits to test out changes before you add them to your css.
Victor has a nice tutorial.
Hope this helps.
TerryApril 17, 2018 at 10:53 am in reply to: Sixteen-nine Pro: changing color of mobile "drop down" menu #219054TerryMemberHi,
It looks like you need to change the color from white in your css around line 1036:.responsive-menu-icon::before { content: "\f333"; color: #fff; display: block; font: normal 20px/1 'dashicons'; margin: 0 auto; text-align: center; }
Hope that helps!
TerryMemberHi Evmark,
To jump in here... Adding to Victor's reply, both WordPress and the Genesis framework are updated via the WP Admin Update.Child themes are not... because it's the playground for your customizations. To shift analogies.. The Child theme is the paint & upholstery on the car so to speak. Unless your updates are localized, for example additions to your functions.php, blindly updating child theme files will step on existing files. With anything that's customized, it's about where that line is drawn. One reason the Genesis framework combined with a child theme is such a fantastic WordPress approach is because of that supported Genesis engine where most of the "work" takes place.
The frame and engine are with WP & Genesis and provide updates via the WP Admin Updates.
Hope this helps,
TerryTerryMemberHi Jason,
The Foodie Pro theme is a community marketplace theme, is not a Studio Press product. Community marketplace theme developers support their themes directly. As the creators, they will be most familiar with the theme and be able to provide you with the best support. Please contact the Feast Design Co. support team for further assistance with Foodie Pro.
Hope this helps.
TerryMemberHi defree99,
The fix to have your Topbar displayed for all screen widths should be to edit a line of the style.css on or around line 2484. You can use the new Customizer to add the line code below instead of havimg to edit the file directly.
From the WP Admin select Appearance=>Customize=>Additional CSS. Insert the code section shown below & hit Publish.
.site-topbar { display: block; }
You may then need to clean up any alignment issues.
Hope that helps.
TerryTerryMemberThe nature of pages vs posts. Best of luck Randal!
TerryMemberAlso to mention there's the Genesis Featured Post & Featured Page widgets that are included with the Genesis framework. The Genesis Featured Page widget may be your answer!
