On or around line 190 you'll find the code that sets the number of footer widgets to 3. You can change that to 4.
There will also probably be some changes to your css when you change from 3 to 4 widgets.
Hope that helps.
TerryMemberYes, it should display the Customizer => Background Image page.
There you should be able to select your background image from the media library or upload a new background.
TerryMemberGlad to be helpful.
You can try and see what works for your specific situation. The folks at ACF are probably the best resource if you have support questions. They also have great resources for delving a little deeper into ACF.
TerryMemberPossibly this can help...
Our goal is to create a page with two new ACF fields (Field Groups) and then view the page in the WordPress Admin to edit your ACF fields.1. Create that new page "Client Settings"
2. Create a new ACF Field Group, say Color One.
Add a Field, set it up and under the Field Type set it to JQuery => Color Picker (Just to have a little fun).
Set up the Location Rules - Show this field group if "Page" "is equal to" "Client Settings"
Customize the options as you'd like & Update.
3. Create a new ACF Field Group, say Color Two.
Add a Field, set it up and under the Field Type set it to JQuery => Color Picker (Just to have a little fun).
Set up the Location Rules - Show this field group if "Page" "is equal to" "Client Settings"
Customize the options as you'd like & Update.
4. Open your page Pages => All Pages => "Client Settings" and observe the two ACF fields are displayed (per your Options selections). Edit the fields and "Update" your page.Not all fields will be available for presentation in this manner, it depends on the fields/use/etc.
TerryMemberGoing back to your original post, you want to do two things - provide an interface to set/modify fields and then to operate on/display/manipulate fields in your home page.
What I'm referring to is the interface to set/modify fields, you'll still need to create a template file to display the fields.
To create the interface to set/modify fields, create a new page (Client Settings). In ACF Location Rules set field to display when the page is Client Settings.
Then within your front-page.php can operate on/display/manipulate the fields for use in your static font page.
Hope that helps!
TerryMemberYes, Options Page provides a clean, pretty interface for this.
Depending on the fields - where/how they're being used - I sometimes just create a page and configure the fields to display there. Then direct the client to that page.
Sorry to take the forum off in another direction, know our focus is Genesis. Just couldn't resist to post because it's been very helpful to some clients.
Best of luck, hope it helps!
TerryMemberFor whatever it makes sense.
Sometimes it can be easier to create that one page for the client but it depends on the fields.
TerryMemberMorning,
You didn't mention what child theme you're using (whether it's a StudioPress or 3rd party).
Have you tried reaching out to your theme developer/StudioPress for support? That's where I would start to get that question answered. This forum is monitored by volunteer peers and not StudioPress team members.
Terry
TerryMemberHi,
For ACF, you can create an "Admin" page containing the fields they need to edit. That way the client has a one stop and it's much less confusing.
I've used approach successfully to make life easier for clients. Just depends on the fields.
Hope that helps,
TerryTerryMemberMorning,
Try deleting and reinstalling the Genesis theme. While you won't activate the genesis theme, for the Genesis child theme to work the Genesis framework (theme) needs to be present in the themes directory.
To delete the Genesis framework, it can't be active or the parent of an active child theme. Switch to twentyseventeen or another non-Genesis theme.
From WP Admin => Appearance => Themes
Hover over Genesis Theme, select "Theme Details"
In lower right, select "Delete"Note that if a Genesis child theme is active, "Delete" will not be displayed.
Or you can delete/install the Genesis framework (theme) via ftp.
Hope that helps,
TerryTerryMemberHi SeanHorton,
Depending on how comfortable with editing child theme files you are, a couple approaches you could use are:
1. Select "Customize" => "Additional CSS" from the top bar. Enter the following css:
.header-left { display: none; }
OR
2. Add this to the end of your functions.php file:remove_action( 'genesis_header', 'essence_header_left_widget', 9 );
Hope this helps.
Terry
TerryMemberGreat Tony! Please mark this as resolved.
TerryMemberIt looks like this added at the end of your functions.php with a text editor will do the trick.
add_action('get_header', 'remove_primary_nav_front_page'); function remove_primary_nav_front_page() { if ( is_front_page() ) { remove_action('genesis_header', 'genesis_do_nav', 12); } }
Hope this helps.

May 16, 2018 at 4:15 am in reply to: Remove Archives for …. in Breadcrumb Smart Passive Income #219951TerryMemberExcellent Roger!
Please mark this as resolved. Thanks.
TerryMemberThe breadcrumb lineage is defined by the page parents (as set in the page) not the menu.
Try making the About Us Page parents of Testimonials in the WP page editor.That should take care of it.
May 15, 2018 at 8:45 am in reply to: Remove Archives for …. in Breadcrumb Smart Passive Income #219907TerryMemberBrad has a great post that may help on filtering breadcrumbs.
You can filter the archive breadcrumb label to your preference.
TerryMemberJust saw it was Infinity Pro.
The tag or description is moved with a text-indent around line 1252 of your css. Commenting it out/setting it to 0 moved it back under the site title.
If you're comfortable, you can edit the style.css file. Otherwise change the text-indent value (from -9999px to 0) in Appearance => Customize => Additional CSS
.header-image .site-title, .site-description { /* text-indent: -9999px; */ }
TerryMemberYou're welcome! So glad it helped.
Best Wishes,
TerryTerryMemberHi Mike,
You can use the Customizer (Appearance => Customize => Additional CSS ) to make changes to the child theme css without editing css (or you an edit the css)
This is the code that [I believe] you want to change around line 963 in style.css (if you're editing the css)
.magazine-home .content .widget-title, .sidebar .widget-title { background-color: #222; color: white; }
to (change #222 and #fff to the colors you want) just copy and paste this in "Additional CSS"
.magazine-home .content .widget-title, .sidebar .widget-title { background-color: pink; color: #fff; }
If you want to see the css you'll be changing, you can use your browsers inspector to show you the css. Here you will find Victor's link on using your browser's inspector to view and change css.
Hope this helps,
Terry -
