Argh, I was afraid of that.

I rarely ever put the video as the first thing, and it seems REALLY restrictive if that's the only way to do it.

I would imagine there should be a lot better way of doing this. something that is more flexible for people to use.

Basically if a post has a video embedded in it, I want to be able to show that video on the homepage of my site, not just when you're viewing the post.

I would try contacting the author of Zoninator.  I haven't used the plugin before, but it sounds like something that isn't native with WordPress.

A plugin like that is definitely outside the normal realm of WordPress and widgets, so it could be causing some issues.

I would try to stick with using WordPress Widgets instead.

I don't think it has anything to do with GFWA, but it has more to do with the Zoninator plugin.

Weird, I've had no issue with it disabling Genesis' SEO when Yoast's is installed.  Make sure you're running the latest Genesis and the latest Yoast SEO.

It would probably be easier to just change the date for the order that you want them in, rather than trying to change the query itself.

I would try to figure out what's going on with that other plugin first. GFWA is a great plugin, I use the widget instance multiple times on my homepage.

I would just disable the WordPress SEO plugin if you don't want it showing.

Looks like it's the #inner element in CSS. The existing background is repeating, so you'll either need to find a much bigger image, or find a color that you like to fill the background where the image ends.

I use WordPress SEO by Yoast and that provides a lot of great options. You're likely looking for the OpenGraph integration that the plugin offers. Give that a shot.

You would want to look for the CSS around here and modify it.

    `.menu-primary li li a, .menu-primary li li a:link, .menu-primary li li a:visited, .menu-secondary li li a, .menu-secondary li li a:link, .menu-secondary li li a:visited, #header .menu li li a, #header .menu li li a:link, #header .menu li li a:visited { }`

Ah so it sounds like I need to run the loop again because I'm removing the original loop.

I'll give that  a shot, thanks Brad!

Ah I see it now. It was *below* the traditional description boxes. I also have a SEO plugin installed, so that pushed it even further down.

    I see it now, thanks!

    Thanks for the response Brian.

I've tried this already, but the text didn't show up on the Tag archive view.

Do you know how to I ensure that the description shows up in the live view of the Tag archive?

    cheers

I asked Brian Gardner directly on Twitter today.

His response was that Metro has a custom homepage and the homepage does not come with pagination. Rather, it's available only at the category level.

I just like having pagination on the homepage, not just category pages. But that's where my disconnect was.

    Thanks guys.

It's also not shown in the stock demo here - http://demo.studiopress.com/metro/

Which makes me believe it didn't come with the theme to begin with.

    Hi Brian.

You're kinda missing the point of the thread.  I'm trying to get PageNavi to work and override Genesis' built-in.  I want more flexibility than that Genesis offers out of the box.

I figured out what it was.

The plugin, Featured Articles Amplified, has a "Show page navigation" as an option. that was overriding everything else and by disabling that, fixed it.

    All is good now, thx!
