JamesParticipant
hi there
if you have the menu a fixed size, it will not work on mobile devices and could cause the header area to brake as the screen size gets smaller.
JamesParticipanthi there
no that would not be possible, was it just a fading hover effect your after? so like it has a semi-dark overlay and fades light on hover sort of thing.
for the button on the image, you could move the button with css, but then you will loose the button where it is now.
JamesParticipanthi there
can't seem to see any issues there.
to find the source of a problem, a good starting point is to turn off all your plugin, then reactive them one by one but checking your site for the error each time, this way you will know if it is a plugin causing the problem for you, and if it's not, then atleast you have ruled out one thing.
JamesParticipanthi there
so are you looking at moving the title somewhere else or filtering the title so to remove the formatting?

December 18, 2015 at 3:05 am in reply to: Cafe Pro – Change Home Page Widget Layout Configurations #174185JamesParticipantHi there
Cafe Pro use the flexible widgets feature
you can drag and drop widgets in the sections and they will configure differently
try adding 2 widgets, then 3, then 4 and view the site each time, you will see how it works.
unfortunately it can be a bit limited if you want to have a widget configuration that it isn't designed for
you'll need to edit the css and functions.php for the flexible widgets, it's quite complex to work out.
I modify it myself all the time when working on themes, and sometimes i just remove the flexible widget feature completely and code the layout myself. but it is tricky.
JamesParticipantHi there
it is'nt actually overflowing to the left, it simple has no padding on the left, so that is what your seeing
you can simply give the widgets a little padding to solve the problem
'
.sidebar .widget {
margin: 0 0 40px;
padding: 0 20px;
}
'and to fix your menu being stuck under the content, give your header a little extra height
'
#header {
background-color: #f1c580;
height: 250px;
max-width: 950px;
}
'JamesParticipantHi Florcitas
yeh it would'nt really work out that way because the images are as background images, those sections need to be set to some sort of height.
there are lots of things to think about here
the images are quite tall, so if those sections where set to the height of each image, there would be even more scrolling, and be even higher than the window height.
and if you reduce the height of those image sections ( so they are less than the browser height) then because the images are not wide enough, you will get even more white space each side.
those images can be cropped, there is lots of tree and grass in each one that could be cropped out to make the images wider.
you could also look at adding these images as images in widgets and not as backgrounds (padding would need to be removed for those sections of cause.
i have lots of suggestions for you.
JamesParticipantnot necessary, but thanks
happy you have everything working again for you.
JamesParticipantok, your sidebar should be back to normal now
i found a closing '</div>' in the sidebar widget but no opening div !!!
just one div that is left open will cause the issue your having
also found 2 of '</div>' in the courses page, but only one opening div, so same issue
there could be a few floating around
try and use the editor in html mode when possible, takes a while to get used to but is better.
JamesParticipantthat's the weirdest thing
and on other pages it's worse ! the secondary sidebar is duplicated,
i can take a quick look in WordPress for you if you like, only take a moment, add me as a user with admin privileges and shoot me the logins via my site (then you can just delete it after)
JamesParticipantwhat about just using the regular loop and sidebar, no widgets except featured and footer ?
so hero image and featured widgets at top
then regular loop/blog posts with sidebar
then footer widgets as normal ...
June 10, 2015 at 2:55 pm in reply to: Restrict access to page template for certain types of users #155775JamesParticipantawesome !
JamesParticipantthe secondary sidebar should be inside the '.site-inner' div but not inside the main '.content'
yours in right out site the '.site-inner' for some reason
so you overrided all theme files, including the functions?
are you using any Genesis plugins, if so deactivate them
also try re-setting the Genesis settings
also noticed your 'site-footer' is outside the 'site-container' which is also wrong
so some alteration must be causing this
also try activating the Genesis theme itself, not the sample theme
do all of the above 1 at a time, checking as you go, until you find the culprit.
keep me posted
JamesParticipantThanks Diane 🙂
JamesParticipantHi Diane
here is the css for those c0lor changes, this goes in your stylesheet or however you are adding your css
#black-studio-tinymce-2 .widgettitle { background-color: #d25a8a; } #black-studio-tinymce-3 .widgettitle { background-color: #b9a38e; } #black-studio-tinymce-4 .widgettitle { background-color: #ffccdb; }
just a note though, those widgets have numbers as they are on your site, but if the numbers change, you will need to change the css as well to match the number.
JamesParticipanthi there
this can easily be done with a little css
what are the colors you want the 3 titles to be?
JamesParticipanthey there
in order to include any script on a site you need to use 'wp_enqueue_script'
for example you can add this to your functions.php
add_action( 'wp_enqueue_scripts', 'jm_enqueue_disqus_scripts' ); function jm_enqueue_disqus_scripts() { wp_enqueue_script( 'disqus-script', get_bloginfo( 'stylesheet_directory' ) . '/js/disqus.js', array( 'jquery' ), '1.0.0', true ); }
and add your script 'disqus.js' to a folder 'js' in your theme directory.
this will then call your script on every page.
JamesParticipanthey there
the home page widgets on AgentPress are added outside of the "main" content.
now the widget areas could be moved to the main content, so the content/sidebar configuration can be used
but as the theme was not designed for this, some other areas could break, namely the widget areas which are designed for a full width of the page.
did you require all the widgets to be in the main content, or just say the "home-top" widget area ?
JamesParticipantcustom post types are great in templates but what studionoobly wants to do is have them show in the Genesis Featured Posts
here is some info that could be useful
