ok, how is this to get you started, it will only show content to logged in users, if not logged in will show a notice.
i don't know the conditionals for users of a specific type, but this should get you on the right track.
add_action( 'genesis_meta', 'custom_page_genesis_meta' );
function custom_page_genesis_meta() {if ( is_user_logged_in() ) { return; } else { remove_action( 'genesis_entry_content', 'genesis_do_post_content' ); add_action( 'genesis_entry_content', 'show_awesome_notice' ); } } function show_awesome_notice() { echo 'Sorry but this page is restricted to logged in users only. '; }
JamesParticipanthi there
on the example site they have simply added the class of one-fourth to the widgets
i have not used the Widget CSS classes plugin, but assuming you can just add your own classes?
will you be having 3 posts in that section or 4 like the example site?
JamesParticipantnot that i know of
there is that plugin, genesis featured posts extended
as this is a genesis specific plugin, i would no be concerned about using it, genesis plugins are very good and meant to extend the functionality of genesis, don't think of them as a typical plugin, more of an add on.
JamesParticipanthi there
have you made an adjustments in the function.php
as your secondary sidebar is sitting outside of the main wrap. not were it should be.
as this is the sample theme I would just drop the original sample theme files in to override what you have, this will get everything back to normal in an instant.
let me know once you have done this and then i can give you the css to make the sidebars equal.
as for > "Is is possible to get the Genesis Framework to go full width responsive? " do you mean the full width of the screen?
JamesParticipantno, there is something else going on there as the code is all messed up as well.
for starters, I'd deactivate all your plugins, then see if the problems is still there, that way you know if it is a plugin causing it.
keep me posted.
June 9, 2015 at 3:32 pm in reply to: Restrict access to page template for certain types of users #155623JamesParticipantyou might need to hire someone to do this for you (not me)
you are asking for a rather difficult task for a forum, and we are all trying to solve it for you but what you require is a lot more complicated than it sounds.
JamesParticipanthi there
let me know when you have added it in, so i can take a look on my end.
likely the css just needs a little more priority to override the main styles.
JamesParticipantdoesn't really matter
the overflow hidden should be fine just in the main part of the stylesheet
find the ".site-header" and just add the overflow: hidden; to it.
JamesParticipantok
that one was tricky
in your code below the left: 52px is causing the issue
.header-image .site-title > a { background: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0) url("http://www.allcleartravel.com/au/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2015/06/AllClear-Travel-Insurance-Logo-AUS-min.png") no-repeat scroll left center; float: left; left: 52px; /* issue here causing the white space */ min-height: 88px; padding: 0; position: relative; width: 100%; }
to fix this add below
.site-header { overflow: hidden; }
JamesParticipantahh
down in the footer, right ? that space.
JamesParticipanthi there
i can't tell much just be looking at the site, but looks like something is seriously wrong
site hack, corrupt code, plugin issue, anything could be causing it.
what was the last thing you did before it happened, any code changes, new plugins?
JamesParticipantoh, i did check that site but could not see any issues
all seems to be fine on mobiles, the only issue i could see was the mobile nav was not working for the dropdowns.
JamesParticipanthi there
you could simply use display: none in media queries
.header-widget-area, .sidebar { display: none }
JamesParticipanthi there
do you have a link to this site so i can take a look for you.

i didn't see you post above
i think you would be better with this one. needs a PHP Jedi
June 9, 2015 at 2:35 am in reply to: Restrict access to page template for certain types of users #155532JamesParticipanti completely understand
you have content on the page that you only want to show to logged in users of a certain type, else, show a message.
i'll have to think on this one for a bit.
June 9, 2015 at 2:17 am in reply to: Restrict access to page template for certain types of users #155526JamesParticipantyeh that's what i figured you meant, but i can't find a conditional for only a certain user, only all users logged in.
and WordPress would only be able to tell if it was a certain user if they were logged in, if they were not already logged in, how will WordPress know?
tricky
something like this would be a starting point
if ( is_user_logged_in() ) { // do something here like show the page } else { // do something like show a message }
but again, they would need to be logged in,
can't you just password protect the page?
June 9, 2015 at 1:08 am in reply to: Restrict access to page template for certain types of users #155506JamesParticipantnice call Brad, that should work.
JamesParticipantno problem 🙂
JamesParticipanti checked your code and it looks like you put the css inside one of the media queries
putting at the end should be fine, make sure it is clear of everything
