    Thank you - I deleted those files and found a few others that didn't belong, deleted those too. And everything appears to be working fine.

    Thanks. But you mean the Genesis theme, not "plugin" -- correct? Everything else in your instructions stays the same except for that, yes? Just want to make sure!
    thank you!

    I fixed it by adding this:
    .archive.genesis-author-pro .content .entry:nth-of-type(4n+1) {
    clear: unset !important;
    margin-left: 2.5641025641026% !important;
    }

    .archive.genesis-author-pro .content .entry {
    clear: both;
    }

    .archive.genesis-author-pro .content .entry {
    width: 100% !important;
    }

    to the section of style.css for screens less than 980 pixels wide. Seems to be working. Further testing needed.

    I unpacked the Genesis 2.3.1 theme and uploaded it via ftp -- that fixed it.

    Thanks to Brad Dalton!

    Hi Brad -- when you ftp the Genesis theme, do you unpack it first, or upload the .zip archive just as it is? I'm getting this error:
    Catchable fatal error: Argument 1 passed to Genesis_Admin_CPT_Archive_Settings::__construct() must be an instance of stdClass, instance of WP_Post_Type given, called in /home/chefjame/public_html/wp-content/themes/genesis/lib/admin/menu.php on line 122 and defined in /home/chefjame/public_html/wp-content/themes/genesis/lib/admin/cpt-archive-settings.php on line 38

    when I try to log into the dashboard using the admin in the browser.

    I am on auto update for WP... and this happened AFTER the host did the auto update to 4.6.1

    thanks

    Hello - what Davinder told me to do worked. Check the menu to make sure the url to the home page in the primary menu is to the site root -- http://www.yoursite.com/ with no file name afterward. Try that and see if it works.
    Otherwise, can't help you, sorry!

    Hi Joe - if you mean the background color of the navigation bar at the top? With firebug, I found this in the style.css file, line 1091:

    .nav-primary {
    background-color: #287241;
    }

    The #287241 is what you need to change.

    If you mean the green color behind Kaua'i Historical Society text, I found this with firebug:

    .site-header {
    background: url("images/pattern.png") repeat scroll 0 0 / 10px 10px #319a54;
    color: #fff;
    overflow: hidden;
    padding: 40px 0 200px;
    }

    The #319a54 is what you need to change to change the color.

    These should all be in the style.css document for the GoingGreen theme.

    Lovely Kaua'i! I was there for the month of January 2014.

    cheers,
    Grace

    Hi Brad! Thanks for the links - looks like it would work perfectly! I also posted on the google plus genesis framework group, and Sridhar Katakam gave me this answer, which I used, and it works great! check it out...

    thanks Jami - I tried that, and I get this error:

    Warning: Division by zero in /home/content/p3nexnas05_data01/98/2124598/html/wp-content/plugins/genesis-grid-loop/plugin.php on line 251

    on this page: http://3a8.c8c.myftpupload.com/category/portfolio/

    The page is displaying the way I want it to look - featured images of posts in a category I named "portfolio" -- 3 columns across.

    No one has been able to help me solve this error. Carrie Dils mentioned using a built in portfolio page, but I can't find that in the dashboard anywhere, otherwise I would use it. And there aren't any instructions for setting up a portfolio page in the theme instructions either.

    My next question is, What built-in portfolio page, and where is it in the dashboard?

    thanks

    I'm not using the visual editor. The text editor isn't stripping out the
    div. The class name is correct. I did a hard browser refresh.

    But your Firebug suggestion helped me figure out what I needed to do and
    mentioning the media queries is what helped the most! Here is what I did:

    #content div.event-info {style rules}

    and I moved this entry in the style.css file up to the "Content" area of
    the style sheet. It was at the very bottom before, and apparently was
    getting stripped out before it made it to the browser.

    So now it works!

    thank you Bill!

    My category links are still not working properly. Anyone?

    http://mylifeisamess.com

    Tried deactivating plugins. nothing. tried activating one at a time. nothing. tried changing permalinks to default, saving, then choosing Post Name again. In the dashboard - Category - links to Categories are the same as they appear in the blog. Nada.

    Help?
