It's just a graphic... you can easily make one with any graphic program. Whomever made it just called it "bg.jpg" for "background"... a common generic name for such a file.
If you want to use it, go and use it. I don't think anyone can copyright an abstract background unless they can claim it is a work of art... and have registered it.
Find lots of backgrounds from this search: http://tinyurl.com/aqcnlv4
devParticipantThey do the footer by CSS:
#footer-widgets { background: #ADA793 url(images/footer.png) repeat-x; clear: both; font-size: 14px; overflow: hidden; }
Pretty basic stuff.
devParticipantTheir background is 300x243

Just put it in the CSS:
body { background: url(images/old_wall.png); }
Their file is 20k. I would have used a tiny file and used the "repeat" methodology... but 20k is not all that much.All you need is 72 dpi.

devParticipantThis reply has been marked as private.devParticipantOne last guess... You copied my code? Perhaps your editor created "smart quotes":
<div id="content-sidebar-wrap"><div id="content" class="hfeed">
<div class="post-308 page type-page status-publish hentry"><h1 class="entry-title">Test for Drop box</h1>
<div class="entry-content">
<select id=”mySelect” onchange=”if(this.options[this.selectedIndex].value != ”){window.top.location.href=this.options[this.selectedIndex].value}”>Uncaught SyntaxError: Unexpected token ILLEGAL
<
Check the quote marks in YOUR code to make sure they are OK.... "mySelect and !=" etc.When I ran your code under Chrome Resources I get "Unexpected token ILLEGL" It's a syntax error... so there is some junk in the code... my bet is is the quotes.
devParticipantWhat is an 'html box?"
Take a look at the class " dsidx-widget-search" and use that to style your drop down. That might work. It is in client.css
Without being able to login and seeing what you are doing, there isn't much more I can suggest.
devParticipantLots of plugins can screw up responsiveness.
Do you have any others on the site? If so, disable them.
Try this at the end of your css:
#inner {
width: 100%;
}Look at your CSS (or generated CSS via "inspect element." Anytime you see width: xxxpx; you have killed responsiveness as that section of the screen won't resize.
devParticipantI see how it looks on http://www.studiopress.com/responsive/
Have you disabled Jetpack and tried it? Perhaps some other plugins you might be using?
devParticipantI am surprised that after three days no one answered this. Maybe custom style sheets are just not done in Genesis land?
Anyone?
devParticipantHmmm. It works for me on a test page:
http://newmediawebsitedesign.com/wp2/test-2/
Are you putting the HTML in one of the Agent Press's widgets? Try it on a plain old page and see if it works.
I see your code in the page...
<div class="entry-content"> <select id=”mySelect” onchange=”if(this.options[this.selectedIndex].value != ”){window.top.location.href=this.options[this.selectedIndex].value}”> <option value=”">Select Below</option> <option value=”http://www.google.com”>Google</option> <option value=”http://www.yahoo.com”>Yahoo</option> <option value=”http://www.hotmail.com”>Hot Mail</option> </select> </div><!-- end .entry-content -->
Maybe the class "entry-content" is screwing things up? What does it style?
devParticipantAt end of the CSS put the following. Change the min-height to however close you the menu to be next to the logo.
#description {
display: none;
}area, .header-image #title, .header-image #title a {
min-height: 126px;
}#nav a:hover {
color: #FFF;
}devParticipantGive us a link to the page and maybe we can help.
devParticipantI don't know where you got the HTML code for what you did, but I'd do it this way:
<select id="mySelect" onchange="if(this.options[this.selectedIndex].value != ''){window.top.location.href=this.options[this.selectedIndex].value}">
<option value="">Select Below</option>
<option value="http://www.google.com">Google</option>
<option value="http://www.yahoo.com">Yahoo</option>
<option value="http://www.hotmail.com">Hot Mail</option>
</select>May 19, 2013 at 9:35 am in reply to: PRETTY PICTURES – Help with content limit for quote format posts #41607devParticipantYou can probably do this in PHP code via a hook or filter with some conditional logic, but I'm not sure.
What I would do is take out the "character limit" and format each post with it's own "Read More..." link... via the WP editor.
May 19, 2013 at 9:22 am in reply to: PRETTY PICTURES – Remove Read More from Quote Format Posts #41602devParticipantAt the end of the .css file put in this:
`
.more-link {
display: none;
}
`Does that work?
devParticipantIf you have the theme in "maintenance" mode, how are we supposed to see it to help you?
devParticipantNot sure what you did or what the design palette did, but if you want to change your heading colors you an do something like this (change them all to a red) at the end of your CSS:
`h1,h2,h3,h4,h5,h6 {color: #c00 !important;}`
devParticipantNot sure what you did to your CSS so that is is minified.
My guess is one of the plugins you are using is causing the issue.
1. Deactivate your plugins and see if comments show.
OR...
2. Take out the following in the theme's css:
`#comments,#respond{margin:0 0 30px;overflow:hidden;} `
OR...
3 Better yet at the end of the css put in:
`
#comments, #respond {
overflow: visible;
}
`devParticipantIn style.css of your theme add to bottom:
`
.post-meta {display: none;}
.post-info {display: none;}
`Not sure a plugin is a "best practice" when something can be done in two lines of CSS code.
devParticipantTry the Genesis Responsive Header plugin. It works on many themes.
