Yes, I know about the confusion. I had it too.
On some themes you can simply upload your logo/banner to the theme's /image directory and rename it to logo.png and it will work.
Most Gen themes now have support for the "WP way" but you still have to code the size or WP wants you to crop it to some default size or something. All I know is that this code has always worked for us... so far.
devParticipantThis has to be the most-asked question on this forum. It would be nice for SP to put up a page showing all the different ways to do a logo/header.
Here is how I do it.
1. Upload your logo/header to the Media Lib
2. Find the size (width x height) in px of your logo/header.
3. In functions.php of your theme add the following code, using your own sizes:
add_theme_support( 'genesis-custom-header', array( 'width' => 385, 'height' => 100 ) );
4. In WP Admin go to Appearance, Header and choose the file from the Media Lib.
5. Uncheck the "Show text..." box on the above page.
May 22, 2013 at 8:59 am in reply to: Quarttro Theme: Drop-down menu not working in Admin mode #42200devParticipantI put in the support tix and two minutes later Nick from SP wrote me and said to use this code:
.menu-primary li ul, .menu-secondary li ul, #header .menu li ul { margin: 0; }
It worked great!
Previously, I had margin 0 0 0;
Not sure why that didn't work, but maybe I messed something else up.
This simple override fixes whatever the problem is with Quattro in Admin mode.
Thanks.

Thanks for looking into it for me.
I tried the link to the old forum but it would not let me log in, saying the password is wrong. I used same one as for this board. Anyway, I'll mention the link to them in the support tix.
May 21, 2013 at 8:53 pm in reply to: Quarttro Theme: Drop-down menu not working in Admin mode #42118devParticipantSorry I can't give the link as it is a client site... it is already "live" and I'd have to get permission. Since the site works fine, this is not as much a problem as it is a curiosity to me. I posted with the idea that maybe someone else has seen a similar situation with menus not working properly in Admin mode, but work fine after log-out.
devParticipantYou would not use an "html" page for WordPress. It would be index.php which would be the default (so long as there isn't an index.php file as well... on some hosts.) So I don't understand the URL you posted ...com/trifle.html.
Check the URL in Settings, in wp-config, and maybe the permalinks on the pages.
devParticipantYou might want to try this at the end of your CSS file:
#home-slider a.more-link { color:black !important; background:none; border:none; text-shadow:none; }
devParticipantYour site looks great on my iPhone.
This is a good site to test responsiveness: http://www.studiopress.com/responsive/
devParticipantIt depends on what slider you are using. Most of them work off of posts... and anything in the post shows up in a caption box. If so, just put the meta data in each post via the WP editor.
I think the Soliloquy slider might have the ability to grab the meta and put it in the caption for you.
devParticipantThere are probably better ways to do this, but in my functions.php file I'd add this code at the end:
add_theme_support( 'genesis-custom-header', array( 'width' => 728, 'height' => 90 ) );
Then I'd upload it using the WordPress Header screen.
Sorry, I have no idea how to embed flash in there. This might help:
http://kimili.com/plugins/flash-embedMay 20, 2013 at 10:54 pm in reply to: Possible to have image gallery without using media library? #41963devParticipantSure. You can just code a bunch of img tags... <img src="http://www.someplace/some-dir/some-pix.jpg" height="xx width="xx"> on your page with either some non-breaking spaces between them... or <br>s etc.
However, if I were a photographer I'd use the NextGen plugin http://www.nextgen-gallery.com/ to manage my galleries.
devParticipantThe h1-h6 tags are headings. The browsers are designed to put blank lines after it. Unless I didn't understand your question, this has nothing to do with Genesis or CSS.
devParticipant1. You can style the widget areas with CSS
2. You can center the menu and change the font with CSS.
If you learn how to tweak the CSS you will be able to do both of the above.
Hope this answers your questions.
devParticipantYou left out the "!important" paramater. Copy it as I have it above and it will work. You can add a color if you like, like you did.... but make sure you use the !important qualifier. If you don't understand CSS... perhaps it would be a good idea for you to do some reading up on it before you end up trashing your site!!! Remember: never, never, never change any of the code in the theme's CSS. Just pop in your own overrides at the END of the file. If something goes bad, just remove whatever you put in, and all is well again.
devParticipantCheck the permalinks on all your pages and make sure you don't have duplicates or something screwy in them.
Also check the URL you have in Settings, and perhaps in wp-config.
Without being able to log in, that is as far as I can go with this. Maybe others with more WP experience can help. Actually, this is probably not a Genesis issue... it is a WP issue... and you should take it to the WP support group.
Dev
devParticipantI agree with Anita's analysis. Some people who have had a lot of experience with WP are often used to the old blog-page model. They are not used to working with widgetized home pages. I always suggest that people see the "Genesis TV" tutorial on making the Agency theme look like the demo. That will go a long way in showing how widgetized themes work.
devParticipantPut this in your CSS (at end):
.home-middle .widget, .home-top .widget { width: 100%; }
and see if that works for you.
Dev
devParticipant/*--- title---*/ h1.entry-title { font-size: 24px !important; font-family: xxxx !important; } /*--- subtitle---*/ div.entry-content h2 { font-size: 19px !important; font-family: xxxx !important; font-style: italic !important; }
You might want to download a fancy Google font to use.
devParticipantYou probably have a blog page named F1 that is published but not on any menu. You probably also have a menu item called FI with a link to itself. Without being able to log in it is hard to tell exactly what you are doing.
devParticipantYou can take it out of #footer-widgets and just leave it in #footer-widgets .wrap.
Works fine. Looks fine. You graphic is at http://www.lemondeangelique.com/wp-content/themes/eleven40/images/kfooter.png which is 2314x45 px... which makes no sense to me but I suppose you wanted it that wide?
