I see you added a Welcome area to the home page. You should be able to place your sign up box similar to that in a text box and drag it... say... under the 6 images you have there. Or you could add the text box above the "featured in" logos. You can set the color of the text box using css. If you add the box, come back on here, I can take a look and then tell you how to add the background color.

AnitaKeymasterHi Carla, you are using version 1.0 of the Serenity theme. There is an updated version 1.0.2 in your download area (http://my.studiopress.com), which uses the new slider (see theme instructions here - http://my.studiopress.com/setup/serenity-theme/). You may want to just try to install the new slider first before attempting to update the theme since you customized your theme a lot. If the new slider doesn't work with the 1.0 theme you are using, you will have to update you theme. I would make sure you download your Serenity theme folder from your host before making updating. If you need further assistance, let me know.

AnitaKeymasterCan you explain what you need again? Are you saying you want to use a 500 x 300 image in your header instead of the 1000 x 87? If so, you should go to Appearance > Editor then open the Functions.php file. In there look for the settings 1000 x 87 and change that to 500 x 300 and save. Then go back to Appearance > Header and upload your image again.
For the "references" link - what information was supposed to show up there. It's not showing me the home page. I also don't understand the "plugins" statement in regards to the reference page not showing up. What problem are you having with plugins and multimedia?

March 27, 2013 at 5:31 am in reply to: Sample Child Theme – Bypass Alphabetical Order in Menus #31478AnitaKeymasterYou are using a theme from Elegant Themes and from my experience they have their own Theme Options panel. You should check that area.

AnitaKeymasterAs far as I know, no. Especially since they are two different platforms. The CSS calls in each are different.

AnitaKeymasterThat's pretty cool. Thanks for sharing those! I am sure others will find this most helpful.

AnitaKeymasterThat's very nice Damian. You did a great job.

AnitaKeymasterYou can use Firebug with Firefox to review the code on the original site and then re-code the CSS on the new site. You cannot copy and paste the code as these two platforms work totally different. Are you keeping the eCommerce site and only wanting to design your blog to match the eCommerce website?

AnitaKeymasterTwo things. 1) Does she have her browser resolution set at 100% or another percentage, and 2) Click the Compatiblity icon next to the address bar (little torn piece of paper) - to see if it fixes it.

AnitaKeymasterAre you using the same theme on the new hosting or building a brand new website? Give an example of one of the things you are trying to duplicate on the new site from the old site.

AnitaKeymasterMichele, do you have Dropbox? I use that to upload images I need to post on here. My friend saw this in a different way to on her site. After using Join.me to view her screen, I found that if she has her Windows Explorer bar that is normally at the bottom of the screen horizontally, dragged over the the right in a vertical position - it makes the browser window squished and moves everything over.

AnitaKeymasterYou need to contact Godaddy about that issue.

AnitaKeymasterYou have the border set at 0px - it should be at 1, 2... whatever you want, then it will show up. I have looked at the other code and cannot see why that Nav is in there. Did you turn the Navigation off under the Genesis settings?

AnitaKeymasterGo to Genesis > Genesis Settings - scroll down to the bottom. You will see Header and Footer. Is that the Footer area you are using? If not - use the Header area and see if that works. Facebook's API takes a little while to crawl your site. The plugin won't pull the results immediately.

AnitaKeymasterJust add this at the bottom of the style.css and change the color.
h4.widgettitle a, .entry-title a { color: #333; }
