Hi!  Right now when we put our site on a facebook post, it only gives us one option as an image.  We would like it to be a picture of the person who's site it is.  But we are not using featured images, so it doesn't give us anything to choose from.  Is there a way to embed a photo somewhere that can show up as the facebook thumbnail when we paste a link if we're not using featured images?

    Thanks!

Use the Easy Facebook Share Thumbnail - http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/easy-facebook-share-thumbnails/.

I installed it and that definitely works when I paste a post link.  But if I put the root site and not an actual post it still does not have that option.  Tried 2 browsers.  I even tried embedding an image in the footer a few weeks ago and that wouldn't take either.  Any other way to make the facebook thumb for the root when I'm not using featured images?  We don't mind embedding one somewhere on the site.  That just didn't seem to work with the <img src> code in the footer.  It shows on the site but not a FB thumb option.

    Thanks!

Go to Genesis > Genesis Settings - scroll down to the bottom. You will see Header and Footer. Is that the Footer area you are using? If not - use the Header area and see if that works. Facebook's API takes a little while to crawl your site. The plugin won't pull the results immediately.
