    Hi,

I just noticed that the slider on my web site http://www.drcarla.com/home/ looks different than the one in the Serenity Child Theme Demo: http://demo.studiopress.com/serenity(wider image and the captions are different)

Does anyone know if there is an easy way to upgrade my slider? Perhaps I'm using an old version. If not, what do I need to change in the php and/or CSS files?:

    Thank you!

Hi Carla, you are using version 1.0 of the Serenity theme. There is an updated version 1.0.2 in your download area (http://my.studiopress.com), which uses the new slider (see theme instructions here - http://my.studiopress.com/setup/serenity-theme/). You may want to just try to install the new slider first before attempting to update the theme since you customized your theme a lot. If the new slider doesn't work with the 1.0 theme you are using, you will have to update you theme. I would make sure you download your Serenity theme folder from your host before making updating. If you need further assistance, let me know.

Thank you. Do you know what other changes have been made to the theme? I'm not sure if it's worth upgrading since I customized it.  Do you know if version 1.0 uses the Genesis Slider Plugin? That sounds much easier.

I don't have 1.0. How do you add your images now? Do you have a slider in your Plugin area?

I added the photos almost 2 years ago, but they are linked to the posts associated with the captions next to each photo in the slider. I haven't seen anything in the Widgets area.

    Hi drcarla.

Did you come right with your slider migration?
I'm thinking of trying to upgrade from v1.0 to v1.0.2 myself so that I can use the slider. But like you i've customized my theme so much that I'm scared to touch it 🙂

I saw another post here: http://www.studiopress.community/topic/serenity-theme-responsive-update/ which I thought quite interesting. It made me wonder if it might be worthwhile looking at another theme if serenity is not due anytime soon for a mobile responsive update. 🙁

    Ray-zin,

Sorry for the delay. No, I am still using the old version. I might duplicate my site in a subdirectory and test out the upgrade before trying it out on my site. I don't want to break my site. Thanks for the link. I will check it out.
