So they got back to me and said that although it can be done, it's not the easiest customization to do. If you are set on doing it, you may have to hire a developer to do it for you.

The header information in your theme code:
Theme Name: Flexible
Theme URI: http://www.elegantthemes.com/gallery/
Version: 1.1
Description: 2 Column theme from Elegant Themes
Author: Elegant Themes
Author URI: http://www.elegantthemes.com

March 27, 2013 at 4:37 pm in reply to: How to Change URL that Header Image Links to in Serenity Theme #31612AnitaKeymasterWithout the header actually being in position on the site, I can't help with the CSS. I can use Firebug and pinpoint where everything is at. But it doesn't look like the new full header is in place. The header right widget can be repositioned via CSS.

AnitaKeymasterI don't have 1.0. How do you add your images now? Do you have a slider in your Plugin area?

AnitaKeymaster@tonje, I split your question into it's own discussion because your issue is pertaining the the index page and buttons.

AnitaKeymasterIf you are copying a list of text from one place into your Reference Page, look for the little "T" or the little "W" on the kitchen sink (where all the icons are). Open up one of those - paste your content inside there, and save the post. You do not want to insert text into your template. If there is a template update/upgrade you may overwrite that content.

AnitaKeymaster@geezer466, making ones theme responsive is a little more complex than a string of code. Your current them is using sizes in pixel measurements. Responsive design is done in percentages. The entire theme would have to be re-constructed using percentages and then adding in the responsiveness. Here is a more information on Responsive Design - http://www.copyblogger.com/mobile-responsive-design-101/.

AnitaKeymasterAs an alternative to Susan's suggestion of setting up the Gravatar, I offer the Simple Local Avatars plugin - http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/simple-local-avatars/. You may or may not want your personal avatar showing up on various websites that use Gravatar. If you register on a different site and they use this feature, it will automatically pull your picture in. So if you don't want that to happen, would rather stay private on other sites, use Simple Local Avatars.

March 27, 2013 at 5:49 am in reply to: How to Change URL that Header Image Links to in Serenity Theme #31485AnitaKeymasterWhat you could do is, create the header leaving a space on the right to utilize the Header Right Widget area which is approximately 468 x80 but you can change that if you need to. Look at the demo - http://demo.studiopress.com/serenity/. See all the space next to the Serenity name/logo on the right - if you activate the Header Right Widget area, it will show up there. Or you can reposition the widget using your CSS. If you need more help, let me know.
