Hi to everyone,
I just bought Metro Pro Genesis theme and I'm struggling with some simple features that I had in my previous free theme. I'm so sad that a free generic theme have more features than a premium Genesis theme.
I was looking on this forum, and for some of this changes, lots of people suggest plugin.
I also tried to change the code for one thing (literaly this: https://studiopress.community/topic/altitude-pro-responsive-menu-fixed-position/), but it didn't work, probably for a different theme.Anyway, these are my two sites:
Previous (that I want to emulate) -> studiaremedicina.altervista.org (Color Mag free theme)
Actual (that I want to edit) -> jeego.itThese are the features that I want copy from my previous site:
- Copy my previous site bar menu:
1) Home blue button, with blue line up the entire menu bar;
2) Search post button;
3) Random post button;
4) Fixed bar (it doesn't disappear, also if I go in the bottom of the page)- Copy my lateral bar/section:
1) Add random post widget
2) Put title of each section in blue rectangle like my previous site- General:
1) Add 'go on top of the site' button
2) Divide my homepage articles in 3-4 column (and two in mobile view, like Gizchina.it mobile view that is perfect for me)
3) Put a top bar for random post (like my previous site, literaly on top of the site)Also if there are simple tasks, I know that is so much work, so sorry for disturb and thanks in advance.
Just a curiosity: do you think Genesis theme worth the money? They talk about security and optimization, but I see really big limitation and don't understand 'security' meaning (what can change?).
Thanks again to everyone that lose just a few time to help me...
[Resolved]Topic: Metro Pro Logo and Header Right widget
Hi -
I am trying to setup my header area with a logo and a right search bar. I'm having problems aligning the logo and search bar. When I do an inspect, the logo is a paragraph with class of site title. Am I correct in assuming the extra spacing is being caused by the logo being a paragraph? Sorry, I've spent a lot of time on this. I tried to follow the tutorial on wpsites and I've read Victor's tutuorial on Genesis headers and I'm still not getting it. I'm struggling to understand why this is so difficult to change. I'm developing locally so no website to show. Any other ideas or places to look. Should I be using custom logo in instead of custom header?
Thanks,
TerriHi. I'm using the Community Pro Theme and it doesn't come with a full-width custom template, so I'm trying to create one quickly.
The reason is because Elementor requires you have a full-width WP page template in order to use it properly for full-width layouts.
Anyway, I grabbed the code from here: https://gist.github.com/braddalton/6163680, then dropped it into an 'elemntor-with-header.php' file.
Mine looks like this:
<?php /** * This file adds the Custom Full Width Landing Page Template to the Metro Theme. * * @author Brad Dalton * @package Metro * @example http://wpsites.net/web-design/how-to-create-a-custom-landing-page-template-for-genesis/ * @subpackage Customizations * Create a new file and name it page_custom.php & add all this code to the file and upload to the metro theme folder. */ /* Template Name: Elementor w/Header */ //* Remove page header, title, and background image layout. remove_action( 'genesis_after_header', 'community_pro_entry_header' ); // Remove header, navigation, breadcrumbs, footer widgets, footer add_filter( 'genesis_pre_get_option_site_layout', '__genesis_return_full_width_content' ); remove_action( 'genesis_header', 'genesis_header_markup_open', 5 ); remove_action( 'genesis_header', 'genesis_do_header' ); remove_action( 'genesis_header', 'genesis_header_markup_close', 15 ); remove_action( 'genesis_after_header', 'genesis_do_nav' ); remove_action( 'genesis_before', 'genesis_do_subnav' ); remove_action( 'genesis_before_loop', 'genesis_do_breadcrumbs' ); remove_action( 'genesis_after', 'genesis_footer_widget_areas' ); remove_action( 'genesis_after', 'genesis_footer_markup_open', 11 ); remove_action( 'genesis_after', 'genesis_do_footer', 12 ); remove_action( 'genesis_after', 'genesis_footer_markup_close', 13 ); genesis();
As you'll see in the page I've created, it removes the area at the top of page below the header/menu, but it still has the H1, page title. I'm trying to create a full-width template that has only the header/menu, and possible leave the footer/widget area so I can create multiple landing pages with the same header/footer.
What am I missing?
Title says it all. How do I get the permalink for the most recent post in the Genesis - Featured Posts category (https://my.studiopress.com/documentation/metro-pro-theme/widgets/genesis-featured-posts-widget-settings/)
I'm trying to display the link to the post on a page where the widget isn't visible.

[Resolved]Topic: Site layout is not changing
Hello Sir,
I am using Metro pro theme in my blog whatvwant.com. I have changed my site layout to "Secondary sidebar, content, Primary sidebar" from "Content, Primary sidebar".
I have placed some widgets in secondary sidebar, but nothing is appearing in Secondary sidebar widget area. Instead they are appeared in Primary sidebar at the end of all widgets. Secondary sidebar is appearing as empty space.
I want to place 160x600 ad unit in left side. Can you please suggest me why this layout is not working.
My hobby is to learn about new technologies and writing technical tips in my blog whatvwant.com
Google+ | Facebook | TwitterI am helping a friend set up her site, http://hornetitle.com, and we decided to use the Metro Pro Theme. She's happy with the way it looks on her computer, on some phones and in portrait on her ipad. But when we look at it on landscape on her iPad or on the iPhone6 S, her logo gets cut off and we are left with an unfortunate segment of her custom header.
My guess is that somewhere along the way, someone messed around with the widget width setting, or the custom header width, and now they don't work together well on some devices, but ok on others.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Hi,
please, I want remove the H4 tag from the widget's title, and replace it with a "div", with the same graphic aspect.
And I need to modify also the H2 tag, in the widget "Genesis Featured Posts", when it show the recent posts with the tag H2 like title; as above, I would like replace it with a "div", keeping the same graphic aspect.
Someone, can help me to make this changes?
Thank you so much,
Best Regards.

[Resolved]Topic: Metro-Pro theme missing after title hook/widget
Hello,
I am running the most recent version of Genesis(2.1.2) and using the Metro-Pro theme I purchased in 2013. My problem is that I do not see a widget or hook for altering the area immediately below a post title on single pages. In reading other forum posts I see that there is a hook for this area(#12) but in my dashboard I simply do not see this as an area that can receive a widget nor do I see the advanced hooks others report seeing in html5.
I downloaded another copy of the metro-pro theme but it is the same version I purchased in 2013, it doesn't seem to be upgraded. I am capable of editing my functions file or making the required code changes myself but before I do that I'd like to know if I'm overlooking something obvious to get the widget to this area working.
Thanks for any help
P.S. I'd rather keep the URL of my site private, if a mod can figure it out and wants to look that's fine, my request is for general advice(turning on widget to area below post title with metro-pro theme and most recent genesis install) and is not specific to my site.
[Resolved]Topic: Metro Pro, Featured Posts widget repeating posts
Hi I'm using the Metro Pro theme, very similiar to the default theme, regarding the Featured Posts.
I have one in the Home Left, another Home right another Home bottom.
Currently I have Home left set at 1 for # of posts and 1 for offset
Home left 1 for Post and 2 for offset
Home bottom 3 posts O offset.Bottom is good its titled Recent Posts so newest is at top
Home L&R are titled Featured Posts.
All widgets are the Featured Posts widget.
The problem is the Home either L or R sometimes repeats one post from the bottom.
Can I have it where no widget repeats what another has?
I have tried many variations on the offset and just keep refreshing page
but when I think I have it the next refresh shows me wrong.Thanks
Client is annoyed.Hi there
Can anyone help? - I have the E-news extended widget on my primary sidebar. It seems to be ignoring the standard formatting for metro pro:
1) In all other widgets, there is a line underneath the heading of each widget title, but it is not showing up with this widget.
2) The text font is bolded in the enews widget - not responding to the changes I've made in design palette pro, though other widgets responded. I'd like it to be regular font, not bold.The website is: http://www.planetdharma.com/ - look at the right sidebar 'subscribe' box.
How can I have the heading underline return to the e-news widget, and how can I change the font styling of the e-news box?
Thanks,
CaraHey guys,
I'm very tech savvy but I don't consider myself a programmer. I'm building a site using the Metro Theme, and I'd like to somehow take the header section (the block around the site title and the widget space to the right of it) and move it above the whitespace content area. I'd like to have background image instead of whitespace showing behind the header.
Will this be easy to do? Is there a quick way to do that (preferably without an extra plugin), or will I have to trial-and-error it until it works?
Thank you,
Wadsworth
